SABBATH was reborn with Ronnie James Dio, and their UK/European tour featuring "HEAVEN AND HELL" was also well received. However, at the beginning of the American tour that began on July 5th, there were some scenes that showed Ozzy's deep-rooted popularity in the United States, such as the audience calling out "Ozzy!" In the midst of such adversity, it was the Philadelphia performance recorded in this work that made Ronnie confident that he could succeed in America. According to an interview before Ronnie's death, at this live performance at "The Spectrum", a banner supporting Ronnie was raised, and enthusiastic praises and calls of "Ronnie!" never stopped. In other words, what is included in this work is the most important live that was deeply engraved in Ronnie’s mind. After that, you can enjoy about 80 minutes of valuable audience recording of the historic night that became a turning point for Ronnie, who also succeeded in DIO! The former master, known among traders, had a slightly noisy sound image. However, through careful remastering, the brightness and visibility have been greatly improved, and it has become so easy to listen to that it can be said to be a completely different song. This sound quality will surely surprise even the most enthusiastic enthusiasts (of course, the pitch has been adjusted correctly). From the opening song, "Supertzar," the venue erupted into loud cheers, and everyone was sure to be overwhelmed by its realistic impact. I see, it should be engraved in Ronnie's mind. This excitement is one of the characteristics of this recording. As soon as the first song "War Pigs" started, the excitement in the venue reached its peak. In response to this enthusiasm, Ronnie also shows off a wonderful performance with his all-out vocals (the point is that even though there is a lot of cheering between songs, the cheering does not get in the way unexpectedly during the performance). I'm glad that Iommi's guitar can be heard with a solid sound just like Ronnie's song. The subsequent solos in “Neon Knights” and “Children Of The Sea” are flowing and melodious, and play as well as Ronnie’s songs. Please listen carefully here! "Sweet Leaf" and "Black Sabbath" from Ozzy's "N.I.B." are the Sabbath sound that created a chemical reaction with Ronnie's one-of-a-kind dramatic singing on top of SABBATH's typical heavy riffs and groovy rhythms. (Bill's drum solo on "Sweet Leaf" is spectacular, reminiscent of the '70s. This is a must-listen point). Furthermore, the live highlight “Heaven And Hell” is a very interesting take. Ronnie's vocals are especially easy to listen to here, and you can listen to his magnificent singing to the fullest. You can enjoy not only the parts that can be heard on the studio album, but also the original vocal parts that are only used live. Starting with the medley of "Iron Man," a live composition unique to the 1980s unfolds like a wave. “Die Young” has a long guitar solo of about 10 minutes and knocks out all the fans! Even after the concert ended with the encore of "Paranoid," the excitement in the venue showed no sign of letting up, and Ronnie happily expressed his gratitude to the fans. The next day, the band traveled to Connecticut to record a live performance for radio broadcast. This is the Hartford performance that can be heard in “CHILDREN OF THE BLACK: Definitive Edition”. The content of this masterpiece was probably due to the success and momentum of the Philadelphia performance. Even after DIO was formed, "The Spectrum" continued to be a "special venue" for Ronnie. It was always "The Spectrum" that Ronnie wanted to "record", such as video shooting of official video works and live takes of single recordings. August 9, 1980 was the ``best meeting'' between Ronnie and ``The Spectrum''...The live performance, which can be called the ``untold story'' of heavy metal history, is vividly recorded in this recording. I am. If you are a fan who has continued to love Ronnie from the bottom of your heart, you will be able to understand the depth of the "meaning and significance that goes beyond the sound quality" of this work. Please enjoy the rare live performance that all Ronnie fans want to hear, along with "CHILDREN OF THE BLACK: Definitive Edition" which contains the Hartford performance the next day with the highest quality sound!
