"Changes" is an extremely rare song that was performed on stage only twice in the 1970s. This is the best recording of it. This work features the "January 7, 1973 Ngaruawahia Festival Performance." It is a legendary audience recording from the "VOL.4 Tour." The greatest feature of this work is that you can hear the live performance of the classic "Changes," but when did this miracle occur? First, let's take a look at the show's position while taking a bird's-eye view of the band's activities at the time. 1972 (May "VOL.4" completed) July 7th - September 15th: North America (26 shows) ← *DAYTON 1972 (September 25th "VOL.4" released) 1973 January 5th - 19th: Oceania (7 shows) ← ★COCO★ February 15th - March 3rd: Europe (15 shows) ← *BRESCIA 1973 March 9th - 18th: UK (10 shows) ← *Official soundboard ・August 2nd: London Music Festival appearance (September "SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH" production) A miraculous show featuring the classic "Changes" This is an overview of the "VOL.4 Tour." While "VOL.4" was released after the North American leg, the tour didn't resume until the new year in 1973. The Ngaruawahia Festival appearance in this work was the second show of the "Oceania" leg. This was also the only New Zealand performance in the 1970s. This historic stage, with its live performance of "Changes," has earned it a place in recording history, but the sound is also fantastic. While it's a vintage audience, there's a driving force that permeates the atmosphere, and the performance and vocals reach you as if to overwhelm the frenzy of a festival. The reason for this is likely the venue. The "Ngaruawahia Festival" took place on a specially constructed stage in a vast field, with no roof or ceiling to reflect the sound. While it's not quite "like a soundboard" due to the unknown nature of the gene, the sound picked up with zero reverberation is powerful, and the details, down to every word of the lyrics, are exquisite. This is the absolute must-have for the "VOL.4 Tour," where you can enjoy the three rare songs. The full show, featuring the precious song "Changes," is depicted with such echo-free sound. In fact, "Changes" is known as one of the "Three Great Rare Songs" from the Vol. 4 Tour, along with "Wheels Of Confusion" and "Under The Sun," each of which was only recorded twice in the 1970s. Our shop also handles all recordings of the "Three Great Rare Songs." This is a good opportunity, so let's organize them here. 1972: Records on which you can hear "Wheels Of Confusion" and "Under The Sun" - July 15th "DAYTON 1972" - July 15th "WHEELS OF CONFUSION (Disc 1)" 1973: Records on which you can hear "Changes" - January 7th: Ngaruawahia performance (this album) - January 16th "WHEELS OF CONFUSION (Disc 2)" ... as follows. The best recordings of "Wheels Of Confusion" and "Under The Sun" are the classic press album "DAYTON 1972 (Zodiac 797)," and the best of "Changes" is this album. "WHEELS OF CONFUSION" brings together the second-tier recordings of the "Three Great Rare Songs." The classic "Changes" creates a dreamlike atmosphere with piano and Mellotron. While there are recordings of Ozzy Osbourne's solo and reunited Sabbath, the delicate live performances unique to that era can only be experienced through audience recordings. This is the pinnacle of that legacy. This is the absolute must-have "VOL.4 Tour" release, second only to the two greatest albums in terms of quality and rarity, "DAYTON 1972" and "BRESCIA 1973." This legendary audience recording of the "January 7, 1973 Ngaruawahia Festival Performance," where the extremely rare "Changes" was performed, is a masterpiece with a driving force that penetrates the atmosphere, and the performance and vocals reach you as if they were conquering the festival frenzy. This is the best recording to enjoy "Changes," a song only performed twice in the 1970s. This is the must-have album from the "VOL.4 Tour" following the two masterpieces "DAYTON 1972" and "BRESCIA 1973."
