A particularly important live sound source in the history of BLACK SABBATH is released as a complete recording for the first time, surprising fans! Tony Iommi originally produced "SEVENTH STAR" as his first solo album, but at the request of his record company, he decided to work as BLACK SABBATH, and he continued to work with Glenn Hughes, Eric Singer, and others who participated in the album. We welcomed him as a band member and started a US tour on March 21, 1986 as the new BLACK SABBATH. However, due to repeated personal problems and poor health, Glenn was unable to perform satisfactorily on stage, and was officially fired after only two performances. He was replaced by Ray Gillan, who was brought in through a connection with bassist Dave Spitz. will be singing on the SABBATH stage in place of Glenn. This work is a complete recording of the New Haven, Connecticut performance on March 29, 1986, when Ray Gillan appeared on the SABBATH stage for the first time, with a high-quality audience recording. The recordings that make you feel the atmosphere of the venue directly from the opening songs "Supertzar" and "The Mob Rules" are wonderful, convincing of the master quality, and are recorded in the best condition with clearness and high-pitched sounds. The sound image that is firmly focused on the stage captures Ray's song in the center and fully conveys the activities of the main character of the day. In addition, you can hear not only Iommi's metallic guitar but also Jeff Nichols' keyboard, and the balance is excellent. Although Ray was active on the East Coast with former RAINBOW member Bobby Rondinelli until just before this show, this is the first time he will be on stage with a large, internationally active band. However, his performance is dignified and does not make you feel that way, and songs from his Ozzy era such as ``War Pigs'' and ``Sweet Leaf'' already incorporate his unique originality and require a high level of singing ability. Songs from the Ronnie era such as “Children Of The Sea” are also sung cheerfully. New songs from "SEVENTH STAR" such as "Danger Zone" and "Seventh Star" will give you the illusion that he is the original. Immediately after the change from Glenn to Ray, the setlist follows Glenn's, so the main sound source is "No Stranger To Love" sung by Ray, which is a rare show that can only be seen on this day. . Although the original Glenn showed off his wonderful romantic singing on the album, he was not able to demonstrate his ability during the important tour. However, Ray's singing voice that can be heard here takes a different approach from Glenn's, but he uses his natural fresh voice to perfectly portray the song's original charm as an exquisite ballad, and it received a lot of attention from the audience. I am applauded! “No Stranger To Love” ends on this day with a set failure, but when you listen to this take, which was breathed in with Ray’s singing, you can’t help but wonder why the set had to fail. Sho. In addition, in this song, although there was a loss at 3:53 in the original master, by using another master from that day that exists, we have achieved the complete version of this day. The other master used for compensation is also an excellent audience recording and has been further treated, so differences due to tape changes are kept to a minimum. The pitch has also been accurately corrected. With Rei's success, the live performance reaches its highlight while maintaining high tension. Here again, Ray's singing blends into the world of the songs so much that it's hard to believe that he "didn't know much about SABBATH until now." “Neon Knights” has a unique song that matches the character, making it a great listen. In the final song, "Paranoid," Ray seems to have made a mistake in entering the song, and this is where he shows his unfamiliarity for the first time, but if you think about it with common sense, Ray's consistent performance from the first day to this point shows that he is ready to hit the ground running. Just listening to the sound will amaze you. Iommi, who has collaborated with many talented singers, must have been surprised by the potential of this young singer. "LAST GIG WITH RAY" and "TO DO OR DIE" recorded the latter half of the tour with exceptionally high sound quality, and "THE ETERNAL IDOL - RAY GILLEN MIX", a historical excavated sound source that received overwhelming support from fans. As you can see, Ray Gillan's contribution to BLACK SABBATH at that time was immeasurably large. If the combination of Ray and Iommi had continued, it would have had a great influence on the subsequent flow of hard rock and heavy metal. This work, which captures the first time the two actors performed together on stage, is sure to amaze many fans, both as a material and as entertainment. This work is a super first-class documentary sound source that pairs with “LAST GIG WITH RAY” on the final day of the tour, which was released in a new look!
