The only album released by BLACK SABBATH, featuring Ian Gillan, ``BORN AGAIN'' was highly controversial at the time, and the record company and management succeeded in creating a buzz by creating a ``merging of Sabbath and Purple''. There were a lot of rather critical views, not only from DEEP PURPLE maniacs but also from maniacs who had passionately supported Sabbath, but as a result, the album's sales were strong, and "BORN AGAIN"'s chart performance was good. It even exceeded “HEAVEN AND HELL”. There was one region that made a major contribution to record sales. That is the Quebec region of Canada. Regarding this "BORN AGAIN", Iommi said in an interview that "there was a place where it was the best selling Sabbath work so far", and there are various theories about the "place". Quebec is one of the most promising candidates. Quebec was the opening day of the 1983 North American tour. Even better audience recordings were left behind, and many items have appeared from the past. This work is a classic recording made from an excellent top master. You can thoroughly enjoy the live performance with a wonderful sound that is comparable to the Chicago performance of the press CD. This sound source had already released items nearly 20 years ago. At that time, it was characterized by its stable and excellent recording condition, so much so that it was released as a "sound board sound source". This time, I obtained a tape that seems to be as close to the original master as possible even though it is made from the same material. It has been remastered and made into a disc. As you can see by listening to the opening song "Children Of The Grave", the sound that emerges with a clear and rich direct feeling, from Geezer's bass to Gillan's vocals, is amazing even if you listen to it with modern ears. The sound image that allows you to listen to the performance without getting in the way of the audience's cheers is truly like a line source! The heaviness of the Sabbath style meets Gillan's light rock'n'roll, and the groovy rhythm of Bev Bevan's "Hot Line" and the medley of "Supernaut" and "Rock 'N' Roll Doctor" were recorded in the first half of the live show. It's a big listening place. “Iron Man”, “Zero The Hero”, and “Heaven And Hell” are backed by deep bass, and Iommi’s guitar and Geezer’s bass are all worth listening to. Furthermore, “Digital Bitch”, which was not played at the Chicago performance, is a must-see! From the heavy tone of "Smoke On The Water" to "Paranoid" where Guillain's crazy screams are unbearable, this recording will allow you to enjoy the charm of Guillain Sabbath!
