The second edition of the original BLACK SABBATH masterpiece upgrade master featuring Ozzy Osbourne! We have packaged the two live performances at the Selland Arena in Fresno, California, performed at the same venue during the two tours in 1976 and 1978, into 3CDs with top-quality audience recordings from the same taper! This recording has long been known for its high sound quality, and is a superb audience master that has been praised as “just like a soundboard”. The 1976 "TECHNICAL ECSTASY" tour was recorded as "DOCTOR ROCK" (Power Gate-246), and the 1978 live performance on the "10th Anniversary World Tour" accompanying the release of "NEVER SAY DIE!" was also released as "FRESNO". 1978'' and the incomplete one-piece version ``ONE FOR THE NOSE'' have been recognized as classics by enthusiasts to this day. These recordings were made by Robert Clayton, a taper who made many famous recordings mainly in Fresno from the late '70s to the mid-'80s. He also recorded live performances by RAINBOW, JUDAS PRIEST, and UFO with great technique, leaving valuable sound sources for modern fans. Many of the sound sources that were considered standard in the past were made into discs by masters of lower generations after being passed through traders, but recently, 1st generation sound sources that have been kept secret for a long time are being unearthed one after another. This work is one of those sound sources, and with this upgrade, you can hear further evolution from “just like a soundboard”! The sound source from November 9, 1976, recorded on Disc 1, has almost the same content as the previously released "DOCTOR ROCK", but for this press CD, the original master has been regenerated and carefully remastered. It will be re-released as the definitive edition. At the stage of "DOCTOR ROCK", fans had been asking for a press CD, but the sound quality this time is definitely a quality that far exceeds that of the previous release! You can enjoy 75 minutes of live music with extremely high sound quality, which is unusual for this time of year. The sound is clear, has a separate and direct feel, and has a realistic sound image that captures the atmosphere of the venue, making it an ideal image for audience recording. In “Symptom Of The Universe” and “War Pigs”, Iommi’s guitar that emphasizes the metallic edge and Ozzy’s high-tension vocals (in many ways) resonate with a force that jumps into the listener’s ears. The more radical sound after "SABOTAGE" is also attractive, but as you can see in "Black Sabbath" and "Electric Funeral", the doomy elements that they are good at are also well balanced, and the whole live performance has a sharp sound. The sound that you can experience is amazing! Furthermore, the fact that the play of Gerald Woodruff, who was cooperating with the band as a keyboardist at the time, is clearly featured is a nice listening place for enthusiasts. His tones are clearly brought to the fore in new songs such as "All Moving Parts (Stand Still)," "Gypsy," and "Dirty Women," but classic numbers such as "Children Of The Grave" are also vivid. is being revived. You can enjoy a different arrangement from Jeff Nichols's since the '80s. In addition, at the live show at that time, “Snowblind” was played as the third song on the set list, but unfortunately, even in the master used this time, it was missing when the song title was called. There are some cuts of drum solos and MCs, but all the songs except "Snowblind" are included, and you can more than enjoy the atmosphere of the live concerts at that time (the recorder himself used "landmarks"). There is also a theory that it was intentionally cut. The quality has evolved to a level that will shake up the "TECHNICAL ECSTASY" tour, which has been dominated by "KILLING YOURSELF TO DIE" until now, and it will be counted as a new masterpiece!!! Recorded on discs 2 and 3 September 1978 The sound source on the 22nd is a new master that will surprise enthusiasts more than the '76 disc 1! The famous previously released version ``ONE FOR THE NOSE'' was an incomplete version with most of the guitar solos and drum solos cut out, and the gaps between songs were also shortened, and ``FRESNO 1978'' also had some cuts. The pitch was so low that I couldn't fully enjoy it. It was a live performance that could be called a masterpiece by ignoring those shortcomings, but the new master of this work has the highest freshness and clarity that makes you believe that it is an original master direct! Of course, the tape speed is also normal. It is a complete recording except for the song interval after the performance of “Iron Man” where a tape change occurs, and there are no cuts seen in previous releases. This is the “defining album” and “master album” in the true sense that has finally appeared! The excitement in the venue from the opening song "Supertzar" creates the best sense of reality, and the sound check by the members and Ozzy's screams that appear on stage also heighten the feeling of the live performance. The performance started with “Symptom Of The Universe” as in ’76. This recording focuses on Ozzy's vocals, Iommi's guitar, Geezer's bass, and the band ensemble shows an exquisite cohesion, and the sound with excellent separation is like a line sound source without any exaggeration. I can hear it. Particularly wonderful is the powerful drum sound! The loud, sharp, and thick core of the blow is truly a pleasure! Familiar songs such as "Snowblind" with its lively vocal count by Bill, "War Pigs" with its roaring metallic guitar sound, and the frightening "Black Sabbath" can be enjoyed with a fresh feeling due to the outstanding sound. A completely different song from these representative songs is ``Never Say Die,'' which is supposed to be a BLACK SABBATH song, but has no heavy riffs and has a light color. Ozzy's vocals, which are inextricably linked with pop and danger, are a performance that predicts his performance after going solo (Bill's lively drumming is a must-see here as well!). Even in the same “NEVER SAY DIE!”, “Shock Wave” at the beginning of Disc 3 has a heavy sound typical of SABBATH, and this contrasting song idea also recalls SABBATH at the time when it was in confusion. Both can be said to be great listening spots unique to the '78 live. The second half that flows from "Dirty Women" through the guitar solo and drum solo to "Electric Funeral" and then "Iron Man" and "Children Of The Grave" follows '76. Bill's drum solo and Iommi's guitar solo, which were cut in the previous release, are important listening points. In particular, Iommi's solo includes a jam session as a band, and the riffs of the instrumental "Orchid" and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" also pop out, keeping the listener entertained for 14 minutes without getting bored. The climax of the live performance is “Children Of The Grave” and “Paranoid”, which are played with explosive energy. Another feature is that the recording continues for about 30 seconds after the performance, and this work allows you to relive the live performance in Fresno in more detail and realistically for about 90 minutes! Both '76 and '78 are high quality recordings that can even be compared to the highly popular "KILLING YOURSELF TO DIE (New Master)". These are the only two times in its long history that the original four played at Selland Arena. It is an almost miraculous coincidence that both of them are recorded as one of the top five audience recordings in the entire '70s due to the same taper. Of course, it is a must-listen for those who have never heard such a miraculous recording before, but it is also a must-listen for those who have listened to it many times before. You will be shocked by the difference. A three-disc set that depicts BLACK SABBATH shining as the only hope in the dark days of hard rock in the late '70s, on the eve of metal's revival.
