"ETERNAL VOID OF DOOM: THE LEGENDARY MASTER" to be released this time is a masterpiece that conveys SABBATH's live performance in Copenhagen, Denmark at the end of the "PARANOID" tour with wonderful sound. However, this “PARANOID” tour is also known for having completely different contents between the early and late stages. The representative of the early American tour was a number of live performances in the California area held in November 1970. Among them, "Whiskey A Go Go" in Los Angeles is a memorable location for the band members, as SABBATH chose it as the venue for their reunion press conference in 2011. Along with it is San Francisco's "Fillmore West." Despite having a tough schedule of 8 performances in 4 consecutive days from November 19th to 22nd, 1970, with 2 performances each day, SABBATH at the time performed live performances that knocked out the audience. In this work, the live performance on November 21st has been carefully corrected and remastered to the existing master and turned into a disc. This recording is also a masterpiece of the '70 American tour, so existing sound sources have also been available in the past. However, the tape speed was extremely fast, and it was impossible to listen to the SABBATH live performance seriously, let alone enjoy it accurately. In this work, the pitch has been adjusted accurately and the noise has been cleaned up as much as possible. You can listen to the live performance in the best condition ever without any complaints. From the opening song "Paranoid", the listeners are sure to be surprised by the excellent outlook, which is hard to believe from a live show that took place 42 years ago. The recording was once misunderstood as a "sound board sound source," and not only Iommi's guitar and Ozzy's vocals, but also Geezer's bass and Bill's drums come with a clear, thick, heavy sound. Judging from this outstanding realism, the original sound source is probably the reel master that was recorded with permission from the venue or the band, etc. "N.I.B." has a deep black sound that bounces with plenty of elasticity, "War Pigs" has Iommi's guitar dragging the riff heavily, and "Black Sabbath" opens eerily with a guitar intro that was characteristic of that time. and "Iron Man," where the musical sounds are filled with dark energy, and many other intense performances unique to early SABBATH have the magic of dragging the listener into the depths of the abyss. Even more interesting is the middle part of the live performance. “Behind The Wall Of Sleep” exudes the jazzy elements of their musical background, “Hand Of Doom” alternates between silence and madness, and “ETERNAL VOID OF DOOM” is a song that can only be heard in the early days of the tour. It's a great place to listen. The final song, “Fairies Wear Boots,” has a high tension and cool performance that makes all SABBATH fans faint in agony, and the live ends with “Wicked World,” which lasts for 14 minutes and is the final blow! The jazz elements are clearly evident here as well, with Iommi/Geezer/Bill's performance repeatedly coming and going. Furthermore, Ozzy's "flat" singing is also impressive, and he develops a unique musical tone that you will never forget once you hear it. Also, Iommi's solo featured in the middle of the song is almost official-level listening. There are few materials that allow you to listen to long solos from that time so clearly, and this work can be declared to be a rare material both in terms of documentation and entertainment. This work is an incredible 64 minutes of the precious 1970 live performance, with a quality that is comparable to the CD "ETERNAL VOID OF DOOM: THE LEGENDARY MASTER"! By combining these two sound sources, we would like fans to fully experience the power and presence of early SABBATH! Live at Fillmore West, San Francisco, CA.
