A stereo soundboard album leaked by the people involved in the revived "BY YOUR SIDE" era is now available. Moreover, this work was recorded here in Japan. This is a live album of the secret gig "ON AIR EAST performance on January 27, 1999" that was realized immediately after the release of "BY YOUR SIDE". This show was the first performance in Japan since their first visit to Japan in 1992, and was a showcase gig held in front of a very limited number of invited guests, such as listeners selected by lottery on a radio program. This work is a superb product recorded by the people involved in such a special show directly connected to the soundboard table. It is a direct CD of the original master that we obtained exclusively for our shop. In fact, the sound is at an extraordinary level, and although the raw mix is hard to call "official class", it is a beauty rather than a flaw. The cheers are far away and small, and it is a direct sound as if only the live performance was plugged directly into the inner ear. This also suits THE BLACK CROWES, a genuine live band. The immersive feeling is as if the band is stripped naked and living in your brain. Rather than "hearing" the boiling rock and roll and the heated jam, it feels like the sound is "coming from inside your brain". When listening with headphones, it feels like the band is in your head and your ears are PAs and the sound is coming out to the outside. The BLACK CROWES depicted with such a sound is a tremendous show where the momentum and band potential of the masterpiece "BY YOUR SIDE" explodes on stage. It's about two weeks since the release of the new work, but the axis is the three pillars of "BY YOUR SIDE" and the great masterpieces "SHAKE YOUR MONEY MAKER" and "THE SOUTHERN HARMONY AND MUSICAL COMPANION". From the 3rd and 4th albums, they only did two songs, "Blackberry" and "Wiser Time", and then they did a great heyday and a return to their roots in one go. The combination of their unique flavor and refreshing feeling covers the whole work. More than the set, it is the performance itself that exudes a sense of refreshment. New members Audrey Freed and Sven Pijpeen fully understand the concept of returning to the roots and sound natural, yet they are not like a cat on a spree. In particular, the exchange with Rich Robinson on "Wiser Time" is sublimated with heat while hinting at the influence of Jimi Hendrix. And there are more than two new members like this, the big favorites Chris & Rich Robinson! Returning to the roots is lively for any band, and they have created a satisfying masterpiece and are full of joy at being back on the road for the first time in a long time. They give us plenty of performances that make you hear "This is us!" without even saying it. This is not limited to music, but the more people return after taking a detour, the stronger their conviction. The soundboard album "TOKYO 1992", released recently by the people involved in his first visit to Japan, has also been well-received, but if his masterpiece is the innocent momentum of his heyday, this work is a work that overflows with the joy of regaining yourself. A two-disc set that twists the "unhesitant THE BLACK CROWES" into your brain with a superb stereo soundboard, even more so than in his heyday.
