We have prepared rare live recordings of Billy. Moreover, it is a live sound source of Billy's early days. Steve Hopkins released his wonderful collection of sound sources on the internet about 10 years ago. In the mid-1970s, he mainly recorded shows of famous artists in Boston, but luckily he also captured Billy's stage before his breakout. He recorded it at Boston's Orpheum Theater in May 1974. His career was at a time when he had only released two albums, and his next album ``STREETLIFE SERENADE'' would not be released until six months later. Despite this, I think it is very valuable that they have already performed "The Entertainer", a song from the same album. What's more, in order to attract the audience while playing a new song that had yet to be released, the performance included an old-time song by Scott Joplin that had become popular after being used in the movie "THE STING," which was a huge hit at the time. I'll play "The Entertainer" first. In other words, it was Billy's unique humor that used the twist of connecting the song titles with the same "Entertainer", but this scene is certainly interesting. Moreover, since Joplin's song was also a piano tune, Billy was able to play it smoothly. Also, since it was in 1974, before her big break, she already had a beautiful voice, and this, combined with her youth, made her even more beautiful voice reverberate through the Orpheum Theater. The valuable set list that is sung there is only his early repertoire such as "Travelin' Prayer" and "Ain't No Crime". And Steve Hopkins did his usual great job. Really clear sound quality even though it's monaural. Although it is not as good as the sound image that can be described as "just like a sound board," the sound image with a good sense of distance, combined with the intimate atmosphere of the theater, is extremely easy to hear!!! It is an excellent sound source, and this time we will adjust the pitch. Despite the release, there is no omission. Orpheum Theatre, Boston, MA, USA 14th May 1974 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND 01.
