The long-running "FACE TO FACE" tour gained great acclaim when Piano Man and Rocket Man appeared on stage together. Hartford in 2002 was the sound board's representative sound source in the middle of that period. The item has been released many times, partly because it is a digital soundboard recording with a PA out that boasts outstanding sound quality. However, since the PA is out, the sense of realism is undeniably diluted in exchange for the clarity of the two's singing voices and performance. What's more, it had a peculiar feel that is typical of PAs, such as a monophonic and narrow range. Therefore, a maniac who calls himself "Chuckness" has newly remastered this version using the latest technology in 2021. The range of the original sound source was narrow and the dark texture was wonderfully improved. However, it is not an intrusive sound that completely changes the impression of the sound source by applying excessive equalization, but it is a finish that shows Chuckness' sense. All I can say is that it's amazing that the sound has such sharpness and breadth. The ``FACE TO FACE'' tour even included a performance in Japan in 1998, and since it has been held many times since then, it gave the impression that it was a popular tour that gave the illusion that they had become a duo. thing. Regarding the stage in 2002, there was a big change for Elton. He released his new album ``SONGS FROM THE WEST COAST'' half a year ago, and the set includes new songs from the same album, such as ``I Want Love'' and ``This Train Don't Stop There Anymore,'' which makes him feel like he's still active. It gives off a feeling of On the other hand, Billy announced his retirement from rock composition and was in the midst of turning to classical music, which was his passion at the time. Therefore, there is also a scene where he plays a fragment of a melody that seems to be in the middle of making "Angry Young Man". In this way, it is also a valuable recording that conveys the contrasting positions of the two people at the time. Having said that, Billy is a rare showman, and there are only a few glimpses of his inclination towards classical music, and then there are a series of scenes that are typical of him. For example, before he sings "We Didn't Start the Fire" while playing the guitar, he sings one chorus of Elvis' "All Shook Up", which is typical of Billy. And speaking of the biggest charm of this sound source, "Here Comes the Sun" was played at the beginning of Elton & Billy's joint corner in the second half in memory of George Harrison who passed away just three months ago. Probably. This is not a short performance of just touching that Billy is good at, but rather he and Elton played a full four-piece, and a full chorus. What's more, with a full band performance, you can feel the respect for George in the arrangement. If you can listen to it on an outstanding sound board, you will be able to recognize the wonderfulness of the original sound source again. Although the tour was a big topic at the time, it was also a tour where the set list tended to focus on representative songs because it featured big names. This is a wonderful upper version of a standard sound source that captures a day with a lot of things to listen to!
