Time Machine, a group formed by Cobham and centered around Randy Brecker and Will Lee, original members of the 1970s band Dreams, has released a two-disc set of ultra-high-quality audience recordings of their latest live performance in 2025. Featuring keyboardist Oz Ezzeldin, trombone player Marshall Gilkes, and saxophonist Brandon Wilkins, they performed at New York's Blue Note from March 18th to 23rd, generating significant buzz on the American jazz internet. This latest release is the final performance of that run. The set opens with "Panhandler," a track from the 1975 album "Funky Side of Things," followed by a series of 70s classics including "A Little Travelin' Music" and "Moon Germs," immediately elevating the venue! The second half, featuring Cobham's drum solo, features the classic "Stratus," originally from the 1973 album "Spectrum." The six-member ensemble you hear here has a groove reminiscent of the time. They close with "Tinseltown," which was met with a standing ovation, followed by the classic "Red Baron" as an encore. This is a must-see for funk fusion fans.
