All Beatles Budokan recordings began with this miraculous album! The legendary OG-545 LP, the first to be released on vinyl, documented the opening night of the Budokan concert on June 30, 1966. It was one of the first to capture previously unreleased video audio on vinyl, and remains highly regarded among music enthusiasts as one of the most natural, freshest, and highest-quality sound sources available. This time, we used a particularly clean OG-545, achieving a miraculous clean transfer that reproduces the performance effortlessly in modern environments! It's that time of year again, when we look back on The Beatles' Japan tour. While the Beatles Budokan concert may seem like a ubiquitous item, its origins lie in the first release of the LP "LIVE IN TOKYO," commonly known as "OG-545," which captured the June 30 concert on the legendary OG label. Not only is this the most important release, serving as the starting point for all Budokan opening night items, but it also boasts timeless, natural, and excellent sound quality. However, for those who grew up with "The Beatles Dictionary" or "The Beatles Bootleg Dictionary," the "OG-640"—with its impressive slick—is likely more memorable than the "OG-545," the first release of the "LIVE IN TOKYO" album. The original "OG-545" only really came into the spotlight in the 21st century, or rather, more recently. Its understated design, a pure white jacket and red label, far from being a slick, has often been overlooked. In fact, it has recently been discovered that some stores that sold this LP even released it with their own handmade slicks. The secret to the recent popularity of this unassuming "OG-545" is its superb sound quality! Even non-fans have likely seen the video of the June 30th performance at some point, but at the time it was shelved and virtually unknown. The audio was extracted from a secret videotape and released as a vinyl record, creating "OG-545." Unlike the countless June 30th releases that have been released to date, "OG-545" was released only six years after its recording, resulting in a truly remarkable release. Its sound quality is incredibly fresh and natural. Its high quality, comparable to that of its 1972 release and even to modern ears, has been a major factor in its recent re-evaluation. This meant that it was an incredibly high-quality LP in 1972, and even copying it from there would have allowed for a high-quality release. In fact, "OG-545" found its way to TMOQ's Ken Douglas, who copied it for TAKRL's first release, "ON STAGE IN JAPAN - THE 1966 TOUR," becoming a huge bestseller. This led to further copies being produced, a very American development. And the worst part is that the "OG" label itself was unable to surpass the sound quality of the initial release, "OG-545." In fact, the reissue "OG-640," known for its slick jacket, was noticeably inferior to "OG-545," not only changing the opening from a cut-in to a fade-in, but also slightly shortening the running time. However, since "OG-545" itself was a work of pride for the label, it was not pressed in small quantities (naturally), and is by no means an extremely sought-after item. That said, it is not easy to obtain. Even if you do find it, its value has now become well-established among enthusiasts, leading to premium prices. Its status as a masterpiece, representing the legendary "OG" label, remains unshakable in terms of item, sound source, and sound quality. Furthermore, "OG-545" itself is a literal vintage LP, over 50 years old. It is not easy to obtain or restore in clean condition. Meanwhile, this CD release is based on the miraculously clean version of the original. Furthermore, a clean transfer has been achieved, carefully eliminating scratch noise. Furthermore, the phase fluctuations that occurred during audio extraction from the video have been converted to mono, resulting in a stable, unadulterated mono sound. The pitch has also been thoroughly corrected. The natural, clean June 30th performance, already imprinted in 1972, is now even better recorded. The already high-quality sound source has been further refined. While recent items, including the HMC disc, are popular for the first day at the Budokan, this is the original, mint sound from 1972, which can be said to be its original form. Enjoy the mint sound of 1972 without any noise. Be sure to spend June 30th this year with this high-quality title.
