The latest in the Live Chronicle series is the 1964 Denmark and Holland tour, where Jimmy Nicol replaced Ringo. 1964 was a hard schedule for the Beatles, flying around the world, and this tour of Denmark and Holland was held at the perfect time, before their first US tour, even though they were already famous. After this, they will head to Australia via Hong Kong. This work is a video compilation of the Denmark and Holland performances, which were held in only two cities before the Australian trip. The characteristic of this tour is that Ringo was temporarily removed from the lineup due to tonsil surgery, and Jimmy Nicol took his place, and the rehearsal begins with that. This rehearsal is recorded in two versions, one with TCR and one without. The video of the Copenhagen performance on June 4, 1964, Denmark, has been available for a long time, but here it is recorded on video. Although it is short, it vividly records not only the singing Beatles' stage, but also the audience on the verge of rioting. Next, we have the Dutch TV show "THE BEATLES IN NETHERLANDS" from June 5, 1964. It was very rare for them to appear on TV like this on tour, and it was a precious mini-live performance of six full songs, not an interview. This is a rare professional shot of the Beatles with Jimmy Nicol on drums. They are dressed in their familiar stage costumes, and the footage is so good that it was even used in anthologies. The audience rushes onto the stage during the performance, and while the staff tries to stop them, the fans surround the Beatles and dance and sing around them, creating a crazy ending. The June 6, 1964 video begins with a video of the Beatles riding a boat on the canals of Amsterdam to show their faces to the fans along the road before the concert. The footage shows how popular the Beatles were at the time, with fans jumping in like in Dotonbori to get close to the Beatles, and fans running after them. The concert that followed is also interesting. The Beatles appeared on stage, introduced by a light-hearted announcement. The stage was old-fashioned, with a Heineken poster in the background and a Honda ad in the front. Paul and John were each given two microphones and opened with "I Saw Her Standing There." In the anthology, only shots from the front were recorded, but in this work, multiple camera footage, including side shots, is recorded for the longest time. What is most impressive is the way the fans went wild, and the all-standing audience was on the verge of falling into a domino effect. The second half contains a documentary of this tour. There are plenty of videos, such as leaving the airport with Jimmy Nicol and heading to the Netherlands, the large number of fans welcoming them in Amsterdam, and of course the press conference. You can see the precious footage from that time in chronological order. What surprised me was the footage of the plane returning from Amsterdam to the UK. Sitting next to John was his aunt Mimi. Who would have thought she was accompanying him on the tour. And the courageous reporter even interviewed his aunt Mimi. Most people probably never saw her move, let alone hear her voice. If Aunt Mimi had been with him, John would not have been able to do any bad things. DVD DISC 01. ABBEY ROAD STUDIO REHEARSAL June 3, 1964 a: with TCR b: without TCR 02. K.B.
