Beatles Anthology 2 30th Anniversary New Masters Edition

The Beatles Anthology, the culmination of the 20th century's greatest musical legacy, traces the history of The Beatles from their origins to their breakup through rare recordings. This newly edited, expanded, and revised 30th Anniversary Edition features newly remixed and unearthed recordings, along with all new tracks remastered. The Beatles Anthology Project, a long-planned project that chronicles The Beatles' history from their beginnings to their breakup, was released in 1995 as a trilogy of rare albums, books, and video works, attracting the attention of Beatles fans worldwide. The trilogy of albums chronicles the band's history from pre-debut to their breakup, featuring previously unreleased studio outtakes, TV recordings, and live concert recordings. The project also features two new songs, "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love," based on recordings left behind by John Lennon. The final new track in the trilogy, "Now and Then," remained unreleased at the time, but was finally released in 2023 for the first time in 27 years. It still garnered attention as "The Beatles' final new song." Unreleased Beatles songs were previously planned for release on the album "Sessions," but were shelved. Unofficially released in the 1980s on albums like "Ultra Rare Tracks" and "Understanding Past Masters," this "Anthology" project, a trilogy of albums and a video, garnered attention at the time as a culmination of previously unreleased audio and video material. However, the "Anthology" project is a carefully curated collection, and there are still many unreleased recordings from Abbey Road Studios and live recordings and video footage from around the world, many of which are still unreleased. Future releases, including new discoveries, are anticipated. Anthology 2: Anniversary Edition This 30th anniversary edition of Anthology 2 features a newly edited and expanded version of all 84 tracks, including numerous unreleased tracks from the 1996 release, including outtakes, demos, TV shows, and live performances. Compared to the original, the sound quality has been improved, and the album has been completely updated and remastered, featuring more uncut editing and AI-edited demixing, converting mono to true stereo. This includes newly discovered and previously unreleased recordings. Anthology 2 spans the 1965 album "Help!", the historic Shea Stadium concert, the miraculously surviving Japanese performance, and the period of musical transformation from the albums "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver" to 1968, following "Sgt. Pepper's." Disc 1, like the original, begins with the new song "Real Love." The newly remixed version features John's vocals, enhanced for a more realistic sound, and the performances themselves have been upgraded in quality. Next up is a collection of studio sessions from the album "Help!". These include three tracks, including "Help!" and "Yesterday," not originally included on the original, as well as unreleased tracks "If You've Got Trouble" and "That Means a Lot," and outtakes of "Blow Away the Sadness" and "It's Only Love," all in a newly remixed stereo format, improving the sound quality from the original mono versions. The latter half of disc 1 and disc 2 feature numerous outtakes from the albums "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver." These include "Michelle," "Girl," and "In My Life," as well as longer versions of the unreleased "12-Bar Original." All of the "Revolver"-related material is also in a different version from the original, revealing differences in mixes, studio chats, intros, and endings. The latter half of disc 2 includes seven tracks from the 1966 Japan tour, whereas the original anthology only included two tracks. These recordings are also remixed in a new stereo format, capturing the band's final performances as their concert career came to an end. Disc 3 begins with "Strawberry Fields Forever" and continues with outtakes from the "Magical Mystery Tour" era, including the acclaimed masterpiece "Sgt. Pepper's." The album also includes extended mixes and recording times for overlapping tracks, as well as the historic recording of "All You Need Is Love," broadcast live worldwide via satellite and "Christmas Time (Is Here Again)," previously only available on the "Real Love" single. This 30th anniversary edition features new masters for all tracks, including newly discovered and never-before-seen recordings. This newly edited, expanded, and revised edition of 84 tracks includes numerous unreleased tracks, including outtakes, demos, TV shows, and live performances. This includes a newly remixed version of "Real Love," as well as a newly upgraded version with stereo demixes and new remixes from the original recordings.
