The best anthology of live audio and video from The Beatles' 1965 North American tour! This latest special edition includes live audio and video for broadcasting and valuable archive footage! In August 1965, The Beatles went on their second large-scale American tour, following the previous year. Their popularity in America was at its peak, and many outdoor stadium performances were held, setting unprecedented new records in terms of audience numbers. The tour kicked off on August 15 at New York's Shea Stadium, which was a historic concert with over 55,000 spectators and a box office revenue of $304,000, making it the highest record in show business history. The 1965 American tour was the ultimate peak of Beatlemania, and many more audio and video recordings have been left than the previous year, including the Hollywood Bowl performance, which was later released as a live album. This collection is a 2CD & 2DVD 4-disc special edition as a historical anthology of the 1965 North American tour, carefully selecting existing live audio and video recordings from the many records left at the time and compiling them in the latest edition. The two CDs include a representative soundboard broadcast recording of almost all the concerts recorded on this tour, and four performances including the Ed Sullivan Show, newly remastered by Stereo Demix. CD1 contains all the studio live performances, including the rehearsal of "HELP!", which was played at the end of the Ed Sullivan Show, recorded on August 14, the day before the Shea Stadium performance. Next, the legendary concert at New York's Shea Stadium on August 15 is recorded in the complete original live recording. Video footage of this Shea Stadium performance was also recorded and a live recording was made, but there were problems with the recording itself and the performance, so the performance was replayed in the studio the following year, replaced and edited, and remade for TV broadcast. There was no time for this pre-production, so "Twist and Shout" was recorded from the Hollywood Bowl recording from the previous year, and "Act Naturally" was overdubbed from the studio version and several songs were cut, resulting in an incomplete content. The "Complete Inline Recording" recorded here is a complete recording of all the original live sound sources before editing. It is true that the vocals are off in "I Feel Fine" and "Help!", the bass and keyboards are not audible in some parts, and the performance is rough and cannot be used as it is, and it is clear that overdubbing in the studio was necessary, but this is the actual genuine live sound source, and this time it has been newly edited with AI stereo demix to make it a clearer and easier to listen to upgraded sound source. CD2 contains the Sam Houston performance on August 19th and the Hollywood Bowl performance on August 30th, which have been standard as soundboard live for many years. Although soundboard sound sources of two performances are known for each performance, the performances with problems in sound quality and sound source were removed and the Sam Houston performance was recorded on the evening performance and the Hollywood Bowl performance on the 30th, the second day, was selected for recording. Both are sound sources with higher quality sound quality and performance itself, and these two performances are also recorded with upgraded sound sources by AI stereo demix. It is the best live sound source collection representing 65 years. DVD 1 is the video version of The Ed Sullivan Show and Share Stadium, but The Ed Sullivan Show includes the high-quality HD upgraded version of the black and white & mono audio version as in the original broadcast, as well as the newly introduced video in color and stereo demix. In addition, Share Stadium includes two versions: the "American ABC-TV version" which was later broadcast on TV for the first time in the United States, and the "Original Complete Reproduction" which reproduces all songs completely with the original live sound source before editing. The TV broadcast version at the time, which includes the opening comments and the commercial video at the end, has been circulating for many years with poor color balance, but this time it is recorded in the latest remastered video version that has been restored and edited. The difference is clear when compared to the previous version. Furthermore, the complete reproduction version of all songs from the original live sound source is a must-see video that can be said to be the definitive version edited with the best quality from many video sources compared to the past versions, which have variations in image quality and video. DVD 2 contains the "Live Film Archive," a chronological compilation of archive footage and news footage from various locations from the 1965 US tour. From the arrival at New York's JFK Airport on August 13, 1965, before the start of the US tour, to the performance at the San Francisco Cow Palace on August 31, the final stop of the tour, precious live footage from recent live films and news footage has been carefully selected and recorded in chronological order. There have been many such live footage in the past, but this DVD has been re-edited from precious footage that has been newly excavated in recent years, with the footage synchronized with the video and sound or with improved image quality, excluding 8mm film without sound, poor quality footage, and fragmentary footage. Although there is a possibility of new excavations in the future, this is a collection of the best footage at present, and is attracting attention. Following "The First America," which captured the band's first visit to the United States, and "The Beatles USA 1964 Tour Anthology," which summarized their first large-scale national tour, this is a noteworthy special edition with the latest edits for 2024, including the debut of new sound sources and newly discovered footage. The 1965 Ed Sullivan Show, which still exists as a broadcast soundboard source, and the Shea Stadium, Houston, and Hollywood Bowl performances are all recorded on CD in the latest edited stereo demix. The DVD includes the colorized footage and stereo demix of the Ed Sullivan Show edited by the latest AI. The Shea Stadium performance is also recorded in the original TV broadcast version and the newly edited original sound source complete version. The live film archive, which chronologically compiles recorded footage and news footage from each location where the North American tour was held, is recorded in an original new edit mainly focusing on newly excavated and upgraded footage.
