Paul Rodgers and Jimmy Page were label mates of Swan Song and later formed THE FIRM. A live album of BAD COMPANY where both men shared the stage is now available. What inspired this work is BAD COMPANY's "New York performance on September 4, 1974." This is an exquisite audience recording. At that time, Page was in the production period of ``PHYSICAL GRAFFITI'', and BAD COMPANY was also in the debut period. First. Let’s look back at the schedule at that time and check the show’s position.・February 23rd - March 9th: Europe (3 performances) ・April 7th - May 18th: UK #1 (11 performances) ・June 8th: Böblingen performance [June 26th "BAD" COMPANY” released》・June 26th: Landover performance・July 13th-September 13th: North America (29 performances)←★Here★《September “STRAIGHT SHOOTER” production》・November 28th-December 19th: UK #2 (17 performances) This is BAD COMPANY in 1974. They started performing live in February, but their debut album was released in June. Immediately after that, they started their first US tour, and the New York performance of this work was the 24th concert of the “North American” leg. This work recorded at such a show is an audience recording with plenty of vintage feel. To put it bluntly, it sounds like a rare recording, but that doesn't mean it's a roaring/explosive sound (at all), nor is it the type that looks for a performance among the noise (at all). Although the details are round, the core response is sufficient and there is almost no surrounding audience noise. Only the freshly debuted live music dominates everything, allowing you to fully immerse yourself. And as you get used to the sound, you start to notice the subtleties of the phrases from the roundness...that's the kind of vintage recording. Moreover, this work is the highest peak of such valuable records. The original sound that appeared on the internet had a high overall pitch and was unstable, but in this work it was adjusted as much as possible. We got close to the precious sounds from the scene. What is depicted in such a sepia sound is a delicious show that not only co-stars with Page but also includes valuable songs. Let's organize the set here. Bad Company (6 songs)・Rock Steady/Ready For Love/Bad Company/Don't Let Me Down/Movin' On/Can't Get Enough Others (5 songs)・Straight Shooter: Deal With The Preacher・Single : Little Miss Fortune/Easy On My Soul・Others: The Stealer/Rock Me Baby (co-starring with Page)...and so on. FREE's "The Stealer" and single B-side songs are unique to the early days, but "Don't Let Me Down" is even more valuable. His masterpiece "BAD COMPANY" is a historical masterpiece and has many classic songs, but "Don't Let Me Down" was only played until 1975, and even then only at limited shows. . The highlight of the song is the cover of B.B. King's "Rock Me Baby" at the end. When Paul Rodgers said, ``I'd like to introduce you to a friend, Jimmy Page, the guitarist of LED ZEPPELIN,'' enthusiasm erupted and a historic collaboration began. Not only is the introductory MC surprisingly easy to hear, but it's amazing how you can clearly hear the burst of enthusiasm that follows, but it's far beyond the extremely thick performance sound. I don't know what kind of environment they were recording in, but the balance is such that you wonder, "Maybe on stage instead of in the audience?" Page's solo that plays even more clearly can be heard again. Although this work cannot be said to be the best recording, Page's guitar was probably mixed in very much at the scene. It's not the dimension of ``I can't understand just from the sound'' that is common when celebrities co-star, but the unique solo and Paul's passionate singing collide head-on. The two would later overlap in sound at THE FIRM, but at that time Page was at the peak of ZEP's popularity, and Paul was also at the moment when he was climbing to the darling of the era with BAD COMPANY. “Rock Me Baby”, which flows from this work, is a song in which these two performers, who are fully equipped to perform, collide with full force.
