This spring, Dan Lampinski surprised BOC fans all over the world by announcing the finest sound source from his 1978 "Spectres" US tour, which had never been released in Boston since March 30th. From the Master Collection, the Providence performance on January 12th, which is the beginning of the same tour, is now available. The tour accompanying the release of ``SPECTERS'' in 1978 started with a performance in Wichita, Kansas on January 5th and ended with a performance at the New York Palladium on October 1st, with two North American tours in between and stops in various European countries. It was a big scale tour that conveyed the presence of B.O.C. at the time. This work is a recording of the first leg of the American tour, the Providence Civic Center performance in Rhode Island, which is the beginning, from the exceptionally high-quality Audience Master. Speaking of B.O.C.'s Lampinski recordings, the 1976 Boston performance recording that appeared at the end of last year and received great applause from fans is especially well-known (it was made into a recording in "MASTER OF FORTUNE" (Uxbridge)), and it is hard to imagine anything that could surpass it. It was said that it was difficult to listen to, but even the famous album was one step away from the elegant sound of this work, which has the best balance of being mild and easy to listen to, while having an outstanding sense of presence and listening pleasure. I think they might give it away! Excitement in the venue has already been building since the opening, and when the band appears and “RU Ready 2 Rock” starts, the audience will be thrilled with anticipation as they hear the waves of applause. Since then, gem numbers such as "E.T.I.," "Harvester Of Eyes," and "Cities On Flame," which are known as the band's signature songs to this day, have popped up one after another from each of their previous works, and the set of this tour The list is an excellent choice that also serves as a best selection of the '70s. It has been about 10 years since the band was formed, and in addition to their creative songwriting, the members' performances are full of delicious flavor, with songs ranging from the driving "Harvester Of Eyes" to "Goin' Through The Motions" The flow of the live show, which makes you listen to it and knocks you out with the heavy “Cities On Flame” and the dramatic “Golden Age Of Leather”, is also amazing. In particular, "Golden Age Of Leather" condenses the essence of B.O.C. at the time, with Donald Loser and Eric Bloom thrillingly competing with each other on guitar and singing, and captivating with a melodious chorus. The 6-minute drama, which brings together the collective efforts of the entire band, is the highlight of the first half of the live performance. The flow from the same song to the melancholy "Last Days Of May" is moving, and the wonder of this song structure and development is probably the greatness of "original heavy metal", which is comparable to BLACK SABBATH. It's a shame that there is a gap between the second half of "Me 262" and the first half of "Hot Rails To Hell," which appears to be a tape change, but the rush mode performance that begins here also lets you enjoy the energetic side of B.O.C. . Although “Godzilla” is a selection from the new album, it has already received cheers from the audience as a live highlight. Also, Albert Bouchard's drum solo, which is included in the middle of the song, also features Alan Rainier's keyboard, making the 13-minute long part not boring. The second period's "Guitar Medley", which uses "This Ain't The Summer Of Love" as an introduction, flows into the promised "Born To Be Wild", and the audience becomes one with the stage, creating a festive atmosphere. Everyone will be knocked out by the passionate performance that involves their hands. Unfortunately, the tape ends in the middle of the encore "Dominance & Submission," but no matter how I express my gratitude to Taper, who conveyed this masterpiece to the present day with exquisite sound, I cannot express my gratitude enough. yeah! After this, B.O.C. evolved into a more sophisticated sound with their works after ``MIRRORS'', but this live performance in the late 1970s, which had a mixture of early heaviness and unique commerciality, was proves that they have risen to a height that no other band can match.
