Sometimes it's Black Sabbath-esque doom. Sometimes it's divine gothic. And sometimes it's raging mid-groove. This is a high-quality pro shot of the stage at "ROCK HARD FESTIVAL 2017" held in Germany by Dutch heavyweight Asphyx. There are fewer songs with a sense of speed, and songs that go slower and emphasize groove are more prominent. The guitar has become less aggressive as the speed of the songs has decreased. The riff work, which features leads that are similar to melodic doom, such as slowly coiling doom riffs and heavy riffs that are deeply and heavily pounded, is very plain. But it's not bad plain. The artisanal riff work has a solid hook that is typical of old school death. Although the thrashy aggression has decreased and the immediate effect has dropped significantly, I think it's a perfect fit for those who like doomy death metal.
