A live album by ARW (Anderson Rabin Wakeman), a much-talked-about project brought together by three former members of YES, is now available. This project was conceived around 2010. However, the schedules of the three members did not suit, and this year, 6 years later, the long-awaited tour “AN EVENING OF YES MUSIC AND MORE” was realized. This work was recorded at the “October 4, 2016 Orlando performance” of such a tour. This is an audience album containing the first day's performance. Before we get into the details, let's take a look at all the activities that have been announced so far. ・October 4, 2016 - December 3, 2016: North America (36 performances) (about 3 months later) ・March 12 - 25, 2017: UK (9 performances) ・March 27 and 28, 2017 :Belgium & Netherlands (2 performances) The above is a total of 47 performances announced to date. It is hard to imagine that the European tour will end with two performances, and more dates will probably be added in the future. Well, this work, which contains such a first day, is a recording that is currently exciting enthusiasts all over the world. Its biggest flavor is in the amazing show, but that’s not all. The extremely high quality sound is also attracting attention. This work is definitely an audience album, but its quality is like a soundboard. It also looks like a broadcast sound source that has been mixed precisely. There is no need for the taper himself to confess that the real cheers are definitely those of the audience recording, but the thickness of the musical tone, the fineness of the details, and the overwhelming sense of closeness are so vivid that they seem to be connected by a line. Although the detailed recording position is not known, it was probably recorded quite close to the PA. The quality is such that even if you say to someone who is not familiar with underground music, ``I just released a CD like this'' and give it to them, they will think it is an official work. And what is truly amazing is the show itself drawn with such quality. As the title “AN EVENING OF YES MUSIC AND MORE” suggests, it is filled with YES and ABWH numbers, and the performance is amazing. Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, and Rick Wakeman, as well as supporting Lee Pomeroy (IT BITES' bass) and Lou Molino III (COCK ROBIN's drums), are also wonderful. Not only are both of them talented with careers, Lee Pomeroy is also in Rick's band and Lou Molino III is in Rabin's band, and their playing skills are perfect. Even in this work, you can listen to an ensemble that is so crisp that it is hard to believe that it is the first day. No matter how tight it is, it's not interesting just to copy the original. This is the reason why they have received rave reviews, and the YES songs revived in this work are amazingly fresh and breathed with new life. Molino III's drumming is as powerful as Cozy Powell, with plenty of silly notes reminiscent of Bill Bruford. Pomeroy's bass also has a driving feel that is different from Chris Squire's imitation. Rick and Rabin, two talented artists who stand on a foundation that is heavy and sturdy but exudes lively originality, expand the world by arranging each other's repertoire. In "Roundabout", Rabin arranges as much as he likes (?), and Rick's solos are boldly included in "Rhythm Of Love" and "Owner Of A Lonely Heart", making it very fresh. This is the first time in 24 years that these two will co-star since “UNION TOUR 1991-1992”, but this time there is neither Steve Howe nor Tony Kaye. The two of them dye each other's colors to the fullest. And then there's the voice of the true originator, Jon Anderson. John Davison, who stands firm with the original YES, is also wonderful, but when you listen to this person's voice, the emotion of ``Ah, YES...'' permeates through the logic. Furthermore, "AWAKEN", which John proudly calls "a masterpiece," is played with a majestic intro and Rabin's sharp guitar. A group of famous songs that are fresh and lively come rushing at you all at once. In addition to the three main characters who are still active today, this is a delicious live album with an unexpected rhythm section. I never expected that I would be able to listen to such fresh and nostalgic YES songs in 2016... The true value of the new project ARW, which surprised and delighted enthusiasts around the world even on its first day. It is a masterpiece that reverberates with its delicious taste and superb sound. I want as many people as possible to know about it. This is the fastest release for that.
