While we were still excited about the original YES's Japan tour, the arrival of ARW (Anderson, Rabin, Wakeman) was announced. This week, we are dizzy with the good news, and a video collection that allows us to witness ARW has finally been released! For YES fans... No, ARW is a highly anticipated project in the progressive scene. We have been reporting on ARW with numerous live albums since the first day of its launch, but this is the first time that a video work has been released. This work contains three shows. The main show is "October 12, 2016 Hollywood (5th show)", and the bonus shows are "October 4, 2016 Orlando (first day)" and "November 1, 2016 New York (17th show)". It is a masterpiece that allows you to immerse yourself in new YES music for 2 hours and 16 minutes. First, the main show "October 12, 2016 Hollywood (5th show)". Although it is the main, it is not a complete recording, but 10 songs from the opening "Cinema" to "The Fish" in the second half of the show are recorded. Although it is not full, the quality is so amazing that you forget that. I do not know the detailed position, but it is a shot looking down from the right side of the stage (Wakeman side). The reason why the position is not known even though there is a view is because a fierce zoom is used frequently. The zoom degree is so high that not only the facial expressions of each person, but even the wrinkles on their faces are clearly visible. Moreover, the power of the latest digital equipment is also explosive, and the superb stability of the anti-shake function is fully open and the image quality is so good that you forget that it is a zoom, almost professional shot class. Furthermore, the excellent view is not bothered by the shadows of the heads and arms of the front row, and the stage spreads across the screen without any obstructions. The superb quality is the same for the two performances recorded as bonuses... or rather, it is even more amazing. "October 4, 2016 Orlando (first day)" is a close-up shot of John's face from near the front of the stage, and "November 1, 2016 New York (17th performance)" is a close-up shot of John's face from the opposite side (the Rabin side) of the main stage, and zooms in at a superb angle without any obstructions. All three images are professional shot quality. If there was no raw sound, I would have believed it to be a one-camera professional shot. Oops, I forgot to write about how beautiful it was. The sound is also wonderful, suitable for such a superb view. As with the angles, the feel is different for each of the three shows, but the clarity that allows the sparkle of the sound to reach straight through is common. Unlike the view, it is not the type that "is likely to be mistaken for a sound board," but it is this that gives you a sense of exhilaration that pours down from the heavens. I don't know how many times I've repeated this, but YES songs really suit audience recording. The wonderful thing about ARW, which is depicted with such quality... John with his beard and the appearance of a Greek statue, Rick spinning shining phrases in that cloak, Rabin's dignified finger work is also impressive. Even in the live album with only audio, they unfolded a vivid sound world, but when the "scene" is added, the fierce active feeling is dizzying. Of course, the three are the main characters, but I'm glad that the performance of the two supporting rhythm section is also included. In particular, Lou Molino III on drums looks like John Levin and shows off a variety of beautiful skills like Bill Bruford. In any case, ARW is a masterpiece to see with your eyes. It is also a masterpiece that can be witnessed with the highest quality of professional shots. It is four months until we meet this "scene" and the beautiful and fresh YES music pours down. Until then, it is a sinful one that will not calm your heart that is beating with expectation, but will make it burn even more. Live at Hard Rock Live, Hollywood, FL.
