In October 1980, when they released their unprecedented hit "Greatest Hits," the band's 10th anniversary live performance was held in their hometown of Boston, including the interview with Steven Tyler at the beginning. This is a 77-minute, ultra-high quality stereo soundboard recording of the master that was stored on a reel tape, which was broadcast on Boston's local FM station "WCOZ." The sound quality is excellent. The balance of the sound, the sense of separation, and the freshness are all superb. During this period, Jimmy Crespo, who replaced Joe Perry, who left the band in 1979, was playing guitar, and you can enjoy the "1980 Aerosmith" performance by Jimmy and Brad Whiford's twin guitars with ultra-high quality line recording. It's a shame that the song ends suddenly in the second minute of Rats In The Cellar, perhaps because the commercial or talking part was cut out, but the rest of the song is almost perfectly recorded. There is no high-frequency drop at all. You can hear Steven's MC emphasizing the "10th anniversary," and you can tell that this live performance is special. Jimmy Crespo has not yet been recognized, but he was in Aerosmith for nearly four years, and his guitar skills are considerable, and he naturally performs original plays and solos that give a sense of his own interpretation in various places. At 2:45 in the blues number Reefer Head Woman, he performs a sticky and magnificent modern blues solo in response to Steven's call of "Mr Jimmy!". Tom and Joey's rhythm section is also recorded very clearly and powerfully, so the entire album is a pleasure to listen to. Due to the excellent line recording, Tom's bass notes are clear enough to follow each note firmly. There are also parts where the DJ makes announcements between songs, but they do not interfere with the songs, so you can listen to them with peace of mind. Although this is the only period in Aerosmith's glorious history that is not in the spotlight, it is a very valuable and high-quality album that avid fans cannot avoid. The following year, Brad left Aerosmith to join a project with Derek St. Holmes, following Joe, so this is an important title that allows you to see what Jimmy and Brad's guitar combination was like. Of course, even beginners can listen to it with no problems at all. This is a highly recommended ultra-high quality record! It is a super high quality stereo soundboard recording.
