Among the early UK punk bands, Adverts is the only gay group with a strong gothic tone. The representative songs Gary Gilmore's Eyes and One Chord Wonders' early live recordings before they became big hits are now available in realistic AUD from the time. Charismatic radio DJ John Peel promoted One Chord Wonders, and Adverts quickly became popular. Pogo dance to frontman TV Smith's aggressive and provocative vocals.
