10cc and GODLEY & CREME were divided into two groups and released numerous hit songs. The ``best album to see with your eyes'', which is a compilation of that legacy, has been decided to be released. The true identity of this work is actually an official work. This is a collection of clips released as a video version of the best album "CHANGING FACES", which served as the impetus for the group's restart. This video work was released on VHS in 1988 with the same title as the best album, and was also released on laser disc in 1993 when their comeback work "...MEANWHILE" was attracting attention. Later, in 2006, it was retitled "GREATEST HITS AND MORE" and made into an official DVD, but this work is based on the laser disc version, which was said to be the highest quality in the world at the time. It has been precisely digitized from a mint quality record owned by a core enthusiast in Japan. The content hasn't changed since the VHS era, but 10cc was disbanding at the time, and GODLEY & CREME were about to disband as a duo. This work is a compilation of two sets of footage leading up to such a turning point. It was truly the ultimate video work. The best way to understand its richness is to take a look at the famous songs included. It's not in chronological order but in a random structure, so let's rearrange it here. 10cc Sheet music: The Wall Street Shuffle (live) Original soundtrack: I'm Not In Love (live) Surprise phone call: I'm Mandy Fly Me Because of love: Good Morning Judge/The Things We Do For Love・Bloody Tourist: Dreadlock Holiday・Urban Exploration: Feel The Love GODLEY & CREME・Freeze Frame: An Englishman In New York・Ismism: Wedding Bells・History Mix Vol.1: History Mix/Cry・Others: Golden Boy...and it looks like this. "The Wall Street Shuffle" and the major song "I'm Not In Love", for which no clips were produced, are live videos, but the others are recorded with masterpiece clips. I think you can understand that this is a ``moving best album'' with famous songs flowing one after another, but when you actually watch it, it is even more than that. ``I'm Mandy Fly Me,'' which was leading the way when MTV was in its infancy, and ``The Things We Do for Love,'' which reached No. 5 in the U.S. despite being ridiculed as ``5cc,'' boldly embraced reggae. ``Dreadlock Holiday,'' which became No. 1 in the UK when it was released in 2007, and ``An Englishman In New York,'' which Godley & Creme directed for the first time and built their reputation as filmmakers, dances that are stuck in your mind and won't leave you. "Wedding Bells" and "Cry" were among the first to incorporate morphing, dramatically expanding the possibilities of video clips. And then there's "Feel The Love," which was an encounter between sound and video. Numerous innovative videos that changed rock from "something to listen to" to "something to watch" are constantly pouring out. Because the clips of this work were cutting-edge, they spawned countless imitators, and because they were pioneers, the video techniques themselves have a vivid sense of the times. For any band/artist, a collection of clips is a visual version of their best album, but in their case, their journey itself was the ``progress of rock visuals.'' This work not only allows you to enjoy nostalgic masterpieces with your eyes, but is also a masterpiece of historical images that allows you to feel the evolution of rock culture, which was "advanced pop art." This is a must-see not only for those who were passionate about 10cc, but also for everyone who has a fondness for the history of rock and music videos.
