On September 19th, the third day of the 2024 Japan tour, which was also the final stop of the 55th anniversary debut "THE CLASSIC TALES OF YES Tour", the live performance at Hitomi Memorial Hall in Tokyo was fully recorded with a multi-stereo IEM matrix, and the live performance on that day was also recorded with high-quality audience shots in a DVD edition. First, the stereo IEM sources that each member used on stage, each with a different mix balance, were mixed in an exquisite balance to create a multi-IEM matrix, and then the digital audience source was stereo-mixed with an exquisite combination, faithfully reproducing the scene of the day with a hybrid sound that conveys the atmosphere of the venue to the fullest. The digital camera footage was a stable and good shot from almost the front of the stage, and the audio part was synchronized with the CD's multi-IEM matrix source, and the quality, including the audio, is a world apart from fragmented videos on YouTube and the like. This was their first visit to Japan in two years, and the final of their three consecutive shows at the same hall. Like the previous two shows, they recreated "Tales of Topographical Oceans" as a new suite of about 20 minutes, and although it was in medley format, the arrangement was well-crafted and there was no sense of cut and pasting, so much so that I would like to see it re-recorded as a renewed version. The other selected songs were also fresh, and the only four standard numbers they played in their two recent visits to Japan were "I've Seen All Good People," "Siberian Khatru," "Roundabout," and "Starship Trooper," and the rest were songs that hadn't been played here in Japan for a long time. In addition, their performance skills have definitely improved since two years ago, and Steve Howe's lively playing in particular felt even more relaxed than the previous two shows, even with the exact same set list. In addition, this is the last show in the Kanto region, so it's a must-have memorial item for fans coming to Japan.
