YES's Japan tour, which was realized for the first time in three years, celebrated the 50th anniversary of the masterpiece "Crisis". It has been decided that all the latest original recordings will be released together! This Japan tour was a total of five performances, and this work is the final of the five consecutive works. This is a masterpiece audience recording of the performance "September 12, 2022: Orchard Hall", which was the only special set in this visit to Japan. For many years, we have introduced meticulous visits to Japan in live albums, but the release of all the performances at once is unprecedented. Of course, there are precedents for mini visits to Japan of about 2-3 performances, but it would be miraculous to have five performances. Anyway, with such a furious rush, let's check the dates one by one to avoid confusion. * September 5th "TOKYO 2022 1ST NIGHT" * September 6th "TOKYO 2022 2ND NIGHT" ・ September 8th "OSAKA 2022" ・ September 9th "NAGOYA 20222" * September 12th: Orchard Hall ← ★ This work ★ * Note: The "*" mark is a collection by the same recordist as this work. All five performances. Three performances were held in Tokyo, but they were separated into two in terms of time. The first and second days were the beginning of the tour, while the third was an additional performance after finishing Western Japan. And the date was "September 12th". It was the show the day before this article was published. It was the ultimate fastest recording and release, but it was only possible because the sound quality was excellent. It takes time to carefully remaster a recording, but because the sound quality is high from the beginning, it is possible to release it quickly. In fact, the sound of this work is a beautiful sound that combines a neat and fresh sound with a powerful and vivid core. After all, the same recording artist worked on this work as the simultaneously released "TOKYO 2022 1ST NIGHT" and "2ND NIGHT". All three Tokyo performances this time were at "Orchard Hall", so they were recorded with the same venue, the same band, the same equipment, and the know-how fully established. Of course, no matter how close the situation is, the recording position will not be the same, but even that is an advantage of this work. It is captured from the front row, and there is even a sense of closeness to the rushing force of the core. Such a direct sound depicts a special set for only one performance that is different from other performances. This visit to Japan was basically a fixed set, and the only difference between Steve Howe's solo time in the other four performances was "To Be Over" or "Clap". However, due to the fact that it was an additional performance on the final day, a different set was planned in advance. Let's get started. Complete reproduction of "Crisis" Close To The Edge / And You And I / Siberian Khatru Others Third album: Yours Is No Disgrace / Starship Trooper Solo time: To Be Over / Leaves Of Green (★) / Video Killed The Radio Star (★) Others: Roundabout / Wonderous Stories / On The Silent Wings Of Freedom / Does It Really Happen? / The Ice Bridge *Note: The "★" mark indicates a song that cannot be heard in the other four works released at the same time. ...And so it is. The rough two-part structure is the same as other performances, with "first half = best set" and "second half = "Crisis" reproduction + encore". The difference is the choice of the first half, where "Heart of the Sunrise" has been removed and the solo time is much more substantial. Howe's solo is "To Be Over", which is one of the points of this performance, and John Davison's vocals are added to it to develop into "Leaves Of Green". After that, he was replaced by Geoff Downes and performed "Video Killed The Radio Star" solo. The sound was beautiful until the last day when he arrived at the last minute. The wonderful sound made it possible to release all the performances at once. If you are lost in one of them, you can enjoy all the repertoire of the visit to Japan with a unified sound by collecting "TOKYO 2022 2ND NIGHT" which can hold "Clap" and "Heart of the Sunrise" that are not included in this work. But if that's the case, I would like to complete the three performances of the same recording artist collection by collecting "1ST NIGHT", and if you listen to it that far, you can also enjoy the super sound board-like "OSAKA 2022" and "NAGOYA 20222" ... After all, you have no choice but to enjoy all five works. This work is a masterpiece audience recording of the final performance of such a one-off release, "September 12, 2022: Orchard Hall". This is a beautiful recording of three sisters, performed at the same venue, with the same equipment, and by the same recordist as "TOKYO 2022 1ST NIGHT" and "2ND NIGHT", with a neat and fresh sound and a strong and vivid core. You can fully experience the special performance with excellent sound, including "Leaves Of Green" and "Video Killed The Radio Star", which were not performed at other performances.
