An important concert in the history of YES is being released to the world for the first time! The "important concert" was 36 years ago. It was the final show of YES before their first disbandment, "December 18, 1980 at the Rainbow Theater." YES is a band that has come and gone many times in history, but their continuous activities since their formation in 1968 first stopped in 1980. They stopped their activities due to the poor performance of "DRAMA TOUR." This work is an audience album from the final day of that "DRAMA TOUR." It is the historic final day that everyone who loves rock history pays attention to, but until now, no "sound recording" has been found at all. This is the first one to convey the "first end" to the whole world. Our shop has miraculously obtained the original cassette. We have succeeded in directly digitizing the atmosphere at the scene. This work is a truly wonderful audience sound. As you can see from the fact that it was not pressed despite being an important concert, it is not of a quality that can be called "like a sound board", but the musical sound itself is extremely thick and straight and robust. It is not at all the kind of explosion or roar that is common in valuable records, and you can enjoy the performance of each member clearly. Even if it is not a beautiful recording, the sound of this work is a real record that jumps into your ears without you having to listen carefully. The "truth of the end" depicted in the sound is painfully conveyed. After all, Trevor Horn is the toughest of all. As has been said in numerous records and testimonies, he is a heavy burden to replace John Anderson, and his singing voice is filled with a sense of tragedy in his death throes. The more powerful the backing members drive towards hard rock, the tougher Horn's singing voice, which is weak and at the limit. Of course, it is cruel to put all the responsibility on him, but after all, it is inevitable that the activities will be suspended... Such a thought crosses my mind. More than that, it is Horn's MC that makes you feel the "end". After "Machine Messiah", he thanks the staff and other people involved and says "Tonight is our last gig". Of course, there is no mention of the breakup, and it is the last day of the tour, but his tired voice is lifeless. For Horn, the "DRAMA TOUR" has been a long-standing trauma, but he is trying to somehow get through that final stage. His voice now flows from the speakers with cruel clarity, as he speaks and sings with only willpower. This is the reality of "1980". Looking back, this year was a big turning point for British rock. EL&P and KING CRIMSON no longer exist, while GENESIS has opened up new ground with "DUKE" and PINK FLOYD has embodied the farthest reaches of his own path with "THE WALL". Even if we look at the neighboring hard rock, the former BLACK SABBATH group was successful with Ronnie James Dio and Randy Rhoads, LED ZEPPELIN ended its history, and URIAH HEEP under John Sloman was struggling. Each of them struggled in the face of "new music" and "new era", some transformed, and some disappeared. Meanwhile, YES collapsed with wounds all over their bodies. The appearance of being defeated by a "new challenge" and having to end as it should have is vividly recorded. Now that we know the subsequent brilliant revival and twists and turns, and now that we have witnessed the happy appearance of the "DRAMA" number at the 2016 Japan tour, the final performance is even heavier. One of the real sounds to witness the scene. Live at Rainbow Theatre, London, UK 18th December 1980 GREAT/AMAZING SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (74:01) 1.
