YES's first visit to Japan in three years, celebrating the 50th anniversary of their masterpiece "Crisis". All of the latest original recordings will be released together! This Japan tour was a total of five performances, and this work is the fourth of the five consecutive works. This is the best audience recording of the "September 9, 2022: Village Hall" performance. This visit to Japan is a complete reproduction of "Crisis", but there were many twists and turns to get to this point. Initially, the plan was to celebrate the 50th anniversary of "Crisis" after a complete reproduction tour of "Relayer" from 2020, but it was postponed again and again due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the meantime, the new work "THE QUEST" was released and Alan White passed away. As a result, they resumed their activities with the "Crisis" reproduction tour. Since the beginning of the resumption, we have been reporting on the live album "ROYAL ALBERT HALL 2022", but the schedule has been fluid since then. In order to understand their current situation, let's first review the latest situation of their activities. 2022 (Alan White passed away on May 26th) "50th Anniversary Tour of 'Crisis'" June 13th-29th: UK (11 shows) ←※ROYAL ALBERT HALL 2022 September 5th-12th: Japan (5 shows) ←★Here★ October 2nd-November 19th: North America (29 shows) 2023 "Relayer Reproduction Tour" May 7th-June 7th: Europe (24 shows) This is the YES for 2022/2023 that has been announced so far. After the "UK" leg reported in "ROYAL ALBERT HALL 2022", they came to Japan after a two-month break. Initially, their activities in 2022 were limited to Japan, but now they have also announced a "North American" tour after that. The "Relayer" reproduction tour is planned to take place in Europe next year. Now, all the shows of the Japanese tour are released. In order to avoid confusion, let's check the positions of the five works released simultaneously on the dates. September 5th "TOKYO 2022 1ST NIGHT" September 6th "TOKYO 2022 2ND NIGHT" * September 8th "OSAKA 2022" * September 9th: Village Hall ←★ This work ★ September 12th "TOKYO 2022 FINAL NIGHT" * Note: "*" marks are collections by the same recorder as this work. All five performances. There were three venues in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, but these five works can also be divided into two by recorder. The three Tokyo editions "TOKYO 2022 1ST NIGHT", "2ND NIGHT" and "FINAL NIGHT" were consecutive works by the same person, but this work, which is the Western Japan edition, and "OSAKA 2022" are also sister works by the same recorder. Yes, this work is also the latest recording by the master "Western Japan's Strongest Taper". And the sound of this work is also of the highest class. The position of the third row in front of the stage is very direct, and the thickness of the core and the fineness of the details can only be called "like a sound board". In that respect, it is also connected to "OSAKA 2022", but this work is even more solid. According to the person who experienced it, the sound output at the site was too heavy bass, but it is not felt at all from this work. The outline of each instrument is also vividly and beautifully separated. It is as tight as IEMs. Such a sharp sound depicts the latest full show centered on the complete reproduction of "Crisis". The set is basically the same as "OSAKA 2022", but Steve Howe's solo in one place is "Clap" instead of "To Be Over". In other words, it was the same as "TOKYO 2022 2ND NIGHT" on the second day of Tokyo. Just to be sure, let's organize it here again. Complete reproduction of "Crisis" Close To The Edge / And You And I / Siberian Khatru Others Third album: Yours Is No Disgrace / Clap (★) / Starship Trooper Fragile: Heart Of The Sunrise / Roundabout Others: Wonderous Stories / On The Silent Wings Of Freedom / Does It Really Happen? / The Ice Bridge *Note: The "★" mark indicates a song that cannot be heard in the sister work "OSAKA 2022". ...And so it is. And more important than the set is the condition of the band itself. This time in Japan, the performance has been improving with each performance, and this work has become quite familiar. The reason for this is probably the schedule. As I said at the beginning, they came to Japan after about two months off, and it was actually their first live performance in a long time. That's why they regained their sense as the second half of the performance progressed. Moreover, this work is ironclad with no set changes like the final day. Although all five works this week are wonderful recordings, this work is probably the best masterpiece in terms of "fulfillment of performance". The five consecutive works released simultaneously are each unique, but this work is a masterpiece that combines vivid sound and excellent performance. The best audience recording of the performance "September 9, 2022: Village Hall". This is the latest recording by the master "Western Japan's Strongest Taper", and the direct feeling of the recording position of the third row is intense. It is a masterpiece recording that can only be called "like a sound board" with heavy bass on. The band is getting better and better on this Japan tour, and this work, which vacuum-packed the fourth performance, is a masterpiece live album that combines superb sound and a tightly meshed ensemble.
