Released in 1971, the compilation "Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy" is famous as the "first universal all-time best album". A special version of this compilation will be released. "Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy" is the first compilation album by The Who to be platinum-certified, and in 2007, a remastered version was reissued in Japan. Among these masterpieces, this work is a different version from the original LP and the current CD. It is a meticulous reproduction of the 1985 Canadian CD "MCBBD 37001". What is so special about this historical compilation that includes rare versions? First of all, the "versions" of each song. This album is basically a collection of single A-sides, and "The Kids Are Alright" is included in a single edit (2:45) that is shorter than the album version (3:18). However, not all of the songs were single versions, and some songs were recorded in precious versions different from the singles. One of them is "I'm A Boy". The original single version was recorded in the summer of 1966 (July/August), but "MEATY, BEATY, BIG & BOUNCY" is a stereo version produced in the fall of the same year (October). Moreover, it is not an edit or remix, but a new re-recording, with a slower tempo than the original and a longer length (3:41) than the original (2:34). Moreover, it is a completely different thing that also features John Entwistle's French horn. Another important take is "Magic Bus". This is very complicated. First, let's organize what kind of version differences there are in a list. (A) 1968: Original single version (mono) (B) 1968: Version included on MAGIC BUS (stereo) ← ★This work★ (C) 1971: MEATY, BEATY, BIG & BOUNCY version (alternate vocals/pseudo stereo) ← *LP/paper jacket CD (D) 1984: THE WHO SINGLES version (longer version of C) (E) 2000; THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT version (mono/remix) (F) 2007; MAGIC BUS reissue version (alternate vocals/alternate composition/pseudo stereo) (G) 2014; THE WHO HITS 50! version (mono version of C) ... The original "A" is a mono mix (3:21), but when "Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy" was produced in 1971, the source of the original version could not be found, so it was recorded as a pseudo-stereo version "C" with a different vocal, although it is a long version. This work is not that "C" .... It is true that the original LP of "Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy" and the current Japanese paper jacket CD are "C", but this work is recorded in "B", which is called the "true stereo version". It was previously said that "the only digital take is the original CD version of "Magic Bus: The Who On Tour", and it was also stated as such in "Magic Bus: US Original CD", but in fact it was also included in "1985 Canadian version Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy". Master sound by master Steve Hoffman "Well, if you already have 'MAGIC BUS: US ORIGINAL CD', you don't need this, right?" That's not the case. That's the biggest point of this work, the "sound". In fact, the one who digitized and mastered this work was Steve Hoffman. Yes, it's the charismatic engineer who made his name known to the world with the high-quality labels "Audio Fidelity" and "DCC Compact Classics". The Canadian version of "MEATY, BEATY, BIG & BOUNCY" was digitized and permanently preserved with the super natural sound of master Hoffman. This work is a meticulous reprint of such a hidden treasure that only a few people know about. A masterpiece that makes you realize the depth of sound source history and the path of collectors. A masterpiece of the early compilation is released. This is a meticulous reissue of the extremely rare 1985 Canadian version, featuring alternate versions of the precious "I'm A Boy" and "Magic Bus," and the sound was also completed by master Steve Hoffman.
