WHITESNAKE was at its commercial peak with "SERPENS ALBUS", followed by the unique work "SLIP OF THE TONGUE" with Steve Vai, and the same venue live in Buffalo, New York in 1988 and 1990, recorded by the same photographer from almost the same position (slightly to the left of the stage) with very high quality audience shot footage. This is a must-see and must-have two-disc set for fans. With only a two-year difference, Whitesnake developed a show with completely different content and taste at this time, and this is a project title that will attract attention from Whitesnake fans around the world, where you can enjoy the same venue, the same equipment, and the same position. First of all, disc 1. From the time of the release of "SERPENS ALBUS", when WHITESNAKE was at its peak, the best live footage of the US tour is recorded. A must-see video for fans, with the highest quality audience shots of the 1988 Buffalo, New York performance, which is praised alongside the London live footage on December 31st included in "BRITISH EMPIRE". For fans who haven't seen this video yet, we hope you will enjoy this film! The "SERPENS ALBUS" US tour, which began in June 1987, was initially a circuit supporting MOTLEY CRUE, but in the fall, the album's huge success led to a headlining tour. After finishing the first leg of the US tour with GREAT WHITE as the opening act, WHITESNAKE then toured the UK with M.S.G., and at that time they had no stopping power. From February to April '88, they held the second leg of the US tour, again with GREAT WHITE as support. They held a large-scale live tour, with a Japan tour in mid-June in between, and a performance in Portland, Oregon on August 15th. This video is a 1 hour 35 minute recording of the Buffalo, New York Memorial Auditorium performance on August 3, 1988, at the end of the "SERPENS ALBUS" tour, with undoubtedly the highest level of audience shots at the time. The original is a video master, but the freshness and quality of the shots are surprisingly high, making it an ideal piece for visually learning about WHITESNAKE's live performances at the height of their power. The composition of the stage, which is captured from a position slightly to the left of the second floor of the venue, captures the dynamic movements of each member without leaving anything behind. It is clear from the camera work that the photographer knows WHITESNAKE's songs and live developments well. From the opening "Bad Boys" and "Slide It In", Adrian and Vivian's guitar solo parts, the angle is quickly moved to the player, and Coverdale's intense action and the staging that manipulates the audience vertically and horizontally are also dynamically and powerfully portrayed. Fans can enjoy the places they want to see with a comfortable feeling as if they are reaching the "itchy spot". Furthermore, the freshness of the master is also noteworthy. It is clearly different from the VTR-generated material known to fans, and the members' expressions can be seen in the close-up scenes. The sharp outline and natural coloring are also wonderful, and fans will be surprised and say "Is this a gift!?". "Slow An' Easy", where Coverdale's performance is particularly eye-catching, and "Guilty Of Love" and "Love Ain't No Stranger", where Adrian and bassist Rudy Sarzo show active movements, are also a series of highlights unique to the video. In "Crying In The Rain", the intro guitar solo where Vivian is in the spotlight and Tommy Aldridge's drum solo are also recorded on a clear screen. In particular, Tommy's solo, his specialty bare-handed hitting, is captured with such force that you will want to say "I can't ask for more from the audience video!" Although this live performance does not feature the band's anthem "Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City," the live performance, which is limited to the songs "SLIDE IT IN" and "SERPENS ALBUS," is unified and has a clear direction. Fans will be immersed in the gorgeous 95 minutes of this era, from the last "Give Me All Your Love" and "Tits"! For some reason, there are no long-form professional shots from '87 to '88 (despite being the peak of WHITESNAKE!). The significance of this work, which captures the entire live performance with excellent quality, is immeasurable, and as one of the staples of the "SERPENS ALBUS" tour, it is an item that fans will definitely want to have. A masterpiece of 1988 live footage in which Adrian, Rudy, and Coverdale each run freely across the stage, and Tommy and Vivian captivate the audience with their energetic performance. The show is packaged with the highest quality image and sound quality, with an original menu. Next is disc 2. The definitive version of the tour footage from the same year, with the highest quality audience shot footage of the Buffalo performance in New York on February 19, 1990. This is a must-see version for fans that was previously released as a single item under the title "NIGHT OF BUFFALO". The audience shot from the stand seats on the left side of the stage, with excellent angles and stability, is a high-level image that focuses on the performances of David and Steve Vai. At the beginning of the American tour accompanying the unique work "Slip Of The Tongue" featuring Steve Vai, on February 19, 1990, New York's Buffalo performance was an audience shot, but the whole picture of the concert was captured with a great camera angle, a long-awaited item for enthusiasts has appeared. The cameraman seems to be familiar with the band, and he shows you what you want to see, mainly Vai's guitar playing, so you can enjoy an hour and a half without stress. This is undoubtedly the best video footage recorded by a crowd in 1990. The highlight of the video is Steve Vai, who overwhelms everyone with his original sound and technical playing style, and as the name suggests, you can enjoy a super performance that will have your eyes glued to the screen. It is debatable whether Vai was a good fit for Whitesnake, but there is no doubt that a player like him would have made the stage more glamorous. The video starts halfway through the opening scene, and the intro to "Slip Of The Tongue" is recorded perfectly. "Slip Of The Tongue" starts with David's roar, holding the microphone stand high. Steve and Adrian Vandenbergh play twin lead guitars, but Steve is at the center of the solos and key phrases, which clearly shows the power relationship within the band. At the height of their power, the band wore flashy costumes and overwhelmed the audience. The intro of "Judgement Day" is cut, but the contrast between the heavy sound and Steve's technical guitar solo is amazing. The remade "Fool For Your Loving" is a great staging with Steve's intro mixed with David's MC, which builds up anticipation, and the chorus naturally invites the audience to join in the chorus. The flow from "Slow An' Easy", which has a wonderful contrast between stillness and movement, to the love song "Is This Love", which gives a glimpse into David's private life at the time, is also great. Adrian is a little overshadowed on stage, but he appeals to the audience with an emotional phrase in his guitar solo. "Cheap An' Nasty" starts with a drum count that invites the audience to clap, and Steve also shows off a wild guitar solo. After Tommy's powerful drum solo, David introduces Steve's guitar solo. First, he appeals to the audience with a heart-shaped triple neck guitar, then he changes guitars and plays a bluesy yet technical solo. From "Here I Go Again," which was remade and became a big hit worldwide, he plays "Bad Boys" to slam the band's energy. For the encore, he plays the upbeat "Give Me All Your Love," and then plays "Still Of The Night" to meet the audience's expectations. David's performance, swinging the microphone around with a cord, even feels relaxed. Then he explodes with a title call and the show ends. After the song, David's playful gestures make us reaffirm the greatness of the stage that day. Like the 1988 Buffalo performance on Disc 1, this is a valuable video that condenses WHITESNAKE at its peak. Two masterpieces of two performances with a total recording time of 3 hours and 13 minutes. Both videos are masterpieces that represent the tour, so fans who have not seen them should definitely take this opportunity to enjoy them. Original menu included.
