From the first tour to Japan in 1973 during the release period of "THE MAGICIAN'S BIRTHDAY", a high-quality audience recording of the second day of the Nagoya performance on March 19th is recorded. The CD is made directly from the master cassette, and although the sound quality is a little small, it is fresh and stable, and you can enjoy it without stress. The key point is that you don't feel excessive equalization, and the sound separation is good, so you can enjoy Heap's sound world with peace of mind throughout the entire volume. Not only the band ensemble that gives a dramatic performance, but also the powerful vocals of David Byron with outstanding presence are well captured, and the heavy chorus is also full of power from beginning to end. The drama, with its hard, powerful, and progressive sound, rivals Yes's first performance in Japan, which took place the week before, and is truly a masterpiece. Only the last Circle Of Hands uses a different master played on the day, and the sound quality of that one song is a little difficult to listen to (still good freshness), but other than that it is a good recording with no problems at all. It's a record that allows you to experience the depth and dignity of British rock with its vivid sound, and surprisingly proves that Heep's first performance in Japan in 1973, which has not yet been well-received, was so amazing. You could say it's one piece. Heap's first visit to Japan gave me a bad impression, perhaps because of the negative information such as the bad PA at Budokan, the poor management of the promoter, etc., but after listening to this recording, I thought, ``Is this amazing?'' There is no doubt that it will be. This is a must-listen title for British rock fans that will have eternal value as a valuable record of Heep's first performance in Japan.
