This live performance at the Fillmore East in New York on October 22, 1969, just after the release of the album "Tommy" and after their Woodstock appearance, was recorded in master quality and soundboard format by Bill Graham's "Wolfgang's Vault". This is a perfect reproduction of their overwhelming performance at the peak of their power, including the medley of "Tommy" from the middle of the show, and is performed with almost the same performance content and set as at Woodstock. This is a record-breaking album for the 70s, when they established the rock opera genre and solidified their popularity, and at the same time, became the best live band, as seen in their official live performances in the Isle of Wight and Leeds the following year. 01.
