TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND is the best live act of the modern era, led by the "world's best guitar couple". Here is a superb live album featuring their first Budokan performance in 2016. First, let's look back on the 2016 Japan tour. March 30: Nagoya City Public Hall March 31: Osaka Orix Theater April 1: Tokyo Nippon Budokan [This work] As you can see, this visit to Japan will be a total of three times in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, and the Budokan performance in this work will be the last day of the tour. I'm curious about the passionate performance that finally reached the Budokan, but the biggest point of this work is the sound. The master directly handed over by the recording artist himself is used directly, and this is an unbelievable super high quality sound. It's not a joke or an exaggeration, it can only be heard on a sound board. The musical sound is super direct, beyond the dimension of "solid core" and "clear even to the subtleties", and it feels like "only the musical sound is there". Even though it is a large group of 12 people, you can hear every single note clearly without it becoming a mess, and the essential guitar of Derek Trucks can be heard in detail, from the picking nuances of rubbing the strings to the vibration of the vibrato. Of course, there are spectacular applause between songs, and if you listen carefully with headphones, you can pick up the cheers that rise during the songs, but if you listen normally, you won't notice it. It's not that it doesn't bother you. It's at the level of not noticing. No matter where you listen, there is a direct connection feeling like a direct-connected sound board, and you can't feel the reverberation that seems to be completely reverberation, but it's not so insincere as a table recording. In addition to the applause that rises here and there, the musical notes themselves have the warmth unique to customer recordings, and the temperature and pleasure of live performance are firmly there. Perhaps the extremely slight reverberation that you can feel conveys the exquisite heat and creates an extremely ideal sound. The exact recording position was not revealed, but how on earth could such a recent sound be recorded at the Budokan? The sound, which can only be called an "official audience", is clearly beyond the common sense of the Budokan, but the passionate performance depicted with that quality can only be produced at the Budokan. This is the fourth performance in Japan since their first visit in 2010 when they were still called DEREK TRUCKS & SUSAN TEDESCHI BAND, and each performance is a step up. Finally, the joy and spirit of stepping on the symbolic traditional stage is transmitted vividly. Susan Tedeschi's vocals, which sometimes whisper and sometimes bark, are endlessly passionate and soulful (the gap between her coquettish voice when MCing is also wonderful), and Derek's slides are glossy and sharp. They change their set list drastically every day, but this Budokan has more songs than Nagoya and Osaka, and they also include a large number of original songs. Half of the songs were from their new album "LET ME GET BY" released just this year, and 10 of the 16 songs were originals. It was a show full of the awesomeness that only an active band who is currently enjoying their golden age can have. (By the way, Nagoya had the highest cover rate this time. It was half cover and half original.) Among them, "I Love Japan" was special. It was a new song written just before leaving for Japan, and the video was only released on their official Facebook account. As the title suggests, it is a song that is themed only on their feelings for Japan, but the Facebook video has a playful atmosphere in the rehearsal room, and the chorus section is only 42 seconds long. It seemed to have no meaning beyond a message, but here the slide phrases and chorus work are completed, and it is performed as a new song lasting about 3 minutes (this was the only time it was actually performed in Japan). Since it repeats simple lyrics, it is not clear whether it will be performed in other countries or included in the next studio work, but it can be enjoyed with the superb sound of an "official audience". Anyway, TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND had a brilliant first Budokan success. I really wanted to release a record of this monumental concert of the most popular live band of our time, but I never expected such a miraculous sound to come out. If you are not familiar with the world of underground recordings and ask "Audio... what is that? Is it delicious?", you will definitely think that this is an official live album... No, the more you know it, the more you will believe that this is a live album of such high quality that it is hard to believe it was recorded in the audience. TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND will probably continue to be a big presence. And when that time comes, this work will undoubtedly be talked about as a "legendary one" that recorded their early days. The ultimate recording of the cutting edge of rock and blues at the moment. Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 1st April 2016 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (77:36) 1. Intro. 2.
