Millard also recorded Stephen Stills! The memory of "THE ROXY 1979 3RD NIGHT: MIKE MILLARD 1ST GEN TAPE" is still fresh, which surprised enthusiasts around the world, but it was revealed this week by the JEMS team that he also recorded Stills' stage in 1975. Speaking of 1975, he released the masterpiece "Solitary World", and the tour with this album will start in the summer. There, Millard participated in a live performance held at the venerable Hollywood Bowl on July 25th. That year was the first peak of Millard's recording career. That's why it turned out that he recorded a precious Stills stage with astonishing quality this time as well. After all, two weeks ago he had just achieved the feat of recording the Rolling Stones' series of LA Forum performances, so the recording of this day was of amazing quality that continued that momentum. The sound of Stills' guitar is not "like a soundboard" but is close to the "soundboard itself". And yet, the balance of the performance is not saturated, and the recording quality is astonishing, something that only Millard could achieve, and the quality is simply astonishing, considering it was 1975. But that's not all. Donnie Dacus, who participated in the recording of "The Solitary World" and is also on the back cover of Stills' summer 1975 tour, plays guitar and also sings lead vocals on two songs, "Closer To You" and "Goin' To The Country." That's Dacus, who later joined Chicago as a replacement for Terry Kath. In addition, Rick Roberts of the Flying Burrito Brothers also participates as a rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist. Here, he sings the song "Colorado," which Stills covered in Manassas. Above all, Roberts had already started working with Firefall, so he only participated in the summer tour to help Stills, and it is also a valuable record of the Stills band he was in, which ended in a short period of time. In addition, the sound quality is superb. Even though this stage was backed by such a luxurious lineup, the sound image was still very close. Not only does it capture Stills' lead guitar with a powerful balance, but the delicate backing in "Johnny's Garden" is also as close as a soundboard. And the acoustic solo corner, which includes covers of Fred Neil's "Everybody's Talkin'" and The Beatles' "Blackbird," is also captured with a wonderful texture. A shocking new discovery of Stephen Stills from a mirrored recording that has impressed enthusiasts around the world with its stunning quality!
