From the SCORPIONS' third Japan tour after releasing ``BLACKOUT'', the performance at the Tokyo Kosei Pension Hall held on October 2nd is released as a 2-CD set using the ultra-high-quality audience master directly. The release has been decided! The clarity and sense of presence are of an exquisite quality that even surpasses that of the "TOKYO BLACKOUT" series. You can enjoy the live performance of "BLACKOUT", which was an epoch-making period for the band, with wonderful sound! After Matthias Japs joined the group in 1979's "LOVEDRIVE", SCORPIONS gradually changed from the dark and melancholic musicality of their time with Uli Jon Roth to a brighter and more mainstream direction. The following ``ANIMAL MAGNETISM'' in 1980 had an experimental style that coexisted with melody and heaviness, but its name recognition and popularity increased as it appeared on the first ``Monsters of Rock'' in August of the same year. It continued to rise. However, since the time of the "ANIMAL MAGNETISM" tour, vocalist Klaus Meine has been having trouble with his throat, and during the production work for the next album "BLACKOUT", he initially finds himself unable to speak at all. The situation was serious enough to make Klaus consider leaving the band and retiring, but Rudolf Schenker, Matthias, and others waited for Klaus to recover and worked on the album carefully. In 1982, when Klaus recovered from his illness, "BLACKOUT" was finally completed. The wonderful content, which bounced back from the troubles that befell the band, quickly became a hot topic among fans. The band will be touring around Europe from March to April with their new album. From June to September, we will hold a large-scale North American tour. The energetic live shows were a huge success in various places, and especially in the United States, ``BLACKOUT'' rose to number 10 on the Billboard. SCORPIONS was the first hard rock band from Germany to achieve great success. In late September, after completing their North American tour, the band will embark on their third Japan tour in three years, the first being the ``LOVEDRIVE'' tour in 1979. In this work, the 5th performance, held on October 2nd at the Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall, is completely recorded with the highest quality audience source recorded by Miracle Man. A total of 8 performances were held, starting with the Shibuya Public Hall performance on September 23rd, and the "TOKYO BLACKOUT" series (audience recordings on October 3rd and 4th) is known as a staple. This recording is from the first day of the Welfare Pension Hall 3 Days prior to those events. At this time, the recording was from row Q 59 on the second floor of the venue, a little behind the venue, but the clear clarity and outstanding sense of presence made it a true sound source! The advantage in terms of sound quality is great, and you can enjoy the whole story of this day's live with a realistic and easy-to-listen recording that surpasses even "DEFINITIVE TOKYO BLACKOUT", which was considered the best of the same period! From the opening intro before the performance, the excitement that filled the venue with clapping and cheering was nothing short of amazing. Then, the opening with “Blackout”, which sparks excitement in the venue with a flash of Rudolph’s cutting, will suddenly make the listener shiver! At this 1982 live show, the members jumped out from the entrance under the raised drum riser with the riff of "Blackout." The atmosphere in the venue, surprised and delighted by the unexpected performance, seems to emerge from the recording. Klaus performed a powerful vocal that didn't give the impression of a throat problem. He later changed his singing style to reduce the strain on his throat, but this time he still exploded with the high tones typical of the '70s. This "Blackout" and the following "Don't Make No Promises" are also reproduced with the intensity that can be heard on the album. Following "Loving You Sunday Morning" and "Make It Real," which are still featured as the band's signature songs, is the classic song from the '70s, "We'll Burn The Sky." From the lyrical opening played by Rudolph, there was a great excitement in the venue, and everyone was in a great mood, saying, "We've been waiting for this song!" Compared to the same song performed in Japan in 1979, Matthias's guitar playing has clearly improved, and the original drama of the song is fully reproduced. The guitar is also recorded with an amazingly clear tone, and when you listen to it, you'll wonder, ``Is it possible to record such a beautiful sound even from the second floor!'' With the dynamic and speedy performance of “Lovedrive” that unfolds without a pause, the flowing and melodious guitar of “Coast To Coast”, and the heavy “Animal Magnetism”, you won’t be able to take your ears off the stage for even a moment during the middle of this live show. you can't! In the second half of the live performance, you can see the same flow as the current live performance with "Holiday", "No One Like You", and "Can't Live Without You" (the splendor of each sound is also exquisite). Among them, the hard song ``He's A Woman, She's A Man'' that gives off a strong individuality is one of the highlights of this live performance! The climax of the live performance is "Dynamite" which literally explodes the venue, "Another Piece Of Meat", and the classic "The Zoo" and "Can't Get Enough" (including Mattias' guitar solo "Six String Sting") A great performance) and a series of no less famous songs. The approximately 100-minute live performance concludes with great excitement! This 1982 live was truly the boundary of an era, with performances by a band that overcame hardships and broke new ground both in name and reality with ``BLACKOUT,'' and a set list that included classic songs from the Uli Jon Roth era and classic songs from the 1980s. . This sound source, which is a live performance in the midst of a transitional period and packaged into two CDs with a realistic recording, is definitely a must-listen for all SCORPIONS fans. Please fully enjoy the band's revolutionary period revived with realistic sounds in this work!
