SCORPIONS' first visit to Japan with "TAKEN BY FORCE" began with a performance at Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo on April 23rd and 24th, followed by Nagoya on the 25th, Osaka on the 26th, and the final day on the 27th at Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo for the third time, a tight schedule of five consecutive days of live performances. The three performances in Tokyo are known from various audience sources, including the official live work "TOKYO TAPES", but the live recordings in Nagoya and Osaka are limited in variety, and it seems that there are surprisingly many fans who say they have never heard them. Therefore, this time we have revived the famous recording "OSAKA TAPES" as a "Remastered Edition" that has been given a full treatment from the original master! This recording has been well-known for its sound quality since its release, but this remaster has improved the sound clarity and brightness, reproducing the band's performance with a sharper outline. Of course, the vivid realism that fully captures the excitement of the venue remains the same. From the opening "All Night Long" and "Pictured Life", the performance is enjoyable with ease of listening and power that is comparable to official live performances. When Uli Jon Roth was in the band, SCORPIONS had a "dark" impression, but "Backstage Queen" and "Suspender Love" have musical ideas that are connected to the image of the band from the '80s onwards, and it can be seen that SCORPIONS had an essentially "bright" musical inclination since that time. When Uli's heavy musicality and speedy playing influenced by Jimi Hendrix are added to this, it is easy to imagine that the songs will be like "He's A Woman, She's A Man" and "Catch Your Train". Of course, the melodies that can be heard in "We'll Burn The Sky" and "In Trance" are wonderful (especially the guitar intro of "In Trance" is beautiful). From "In Search Of The Peace Of Mind" to "Fly To The Rainbow", which literally seems to fly into the sky, the performance is superb, and any listener will be enchanted by the perfection of the middle part of the live performance. This '78 live set list, which covers almost all of these songs, can be said to function as the best of SCORPIONS during the Uri era. "Kojo no Tsuki", which was only vocals and the chorus of the venue at the first performance in Japan, is now performed by the band in the second half, making it more dramatic and profound. Uri's melodic guitar is particularly superb, and the emotional melody greatly captivates the ears of the listener. At the end of this work, "Robot Man" draws the audience into a whirlpool of excitement. Klaus' voice has not shown any signs of fatigue from the opening to this point, and he consistently delivers powerful and relaxed vocals. The recording ended with the second half of "Robot Man," and unfortunately "Hell Cat," which was supposed to have been covered after this, and Uri's long solo are not included, but the live performance, which is over 100 minutes long on two discs, is more than enough to satisfy and satisfy. Please enjoy this fulfilling live performance, which can be said to be the culmination of the early SCORPIONS and the culmination of the Uri era!
