Introducing a soundboard album directly connected to the desk leaked by the people involved in “COUNTERPARTS TOUR 1994”! This week, “LARGO 1984 ORIGINAL DAT MASTER” from “GRACE UNDER PRESSURE TOUR 1984” will also be released at the same time, but this one was also conveyed by the same people in the same way. Although it is 10 years later, it also contains the live performance of the Maryland performance “April 26, 1994” on a glittering soundboard. This recording is a classic soundboard that has been known for a long time even in “COUNTERPARTS TOUR 1994”. In the past, existing titles such as “DARKNESS AND LIGHT”, the upgrade version “WINKEN, BLINKEN AND NED”, and the fusion version with the audience “A DARKER LIGHT” have delighted enthusiasts. These were also born from the sound sources leaked by the people involved, but this work uses the actual DAT master recorded by the people involved themselves. The cassette in the right image is the actual product. It is written in vivid handwriting as "DSBD (Digital Sound Board) > DAT", but just this line age is enough to make you dizzy. It is an "absolute master" that was recorded directly from the soundboard desk and has no degradation via digital! This work does not include the eight songs from the beginning of the show, "Dreamline" to "Animate", but only from the middle. The encore "YYZ", which was cut from some of the previously released versions, is included, but "Force Ten" is also not included. However, this is all of the soundboard. As you can see in the image, the fact that two 60-minute DATs were used but not included means that the beginning and "Force Ten" were not recorded. The historical fact of such recording is interesting because it is DAT direct, but the most amazing thing is of course the sound. In fact, the musical tones that flow from this work are an extremely clear sound that can only be achieved by direct connection to the desk. Of course, you can't expect cheers or the atmosphere of the venue, but it is a live performance without any decoration or any route. To be honest, there is a momentary "grinding" noise here and there (it's really momentary so you can't count the seconds), which makes it seem rough, but even this noise is the sound that flowed from the soundboard desk to the PA at the venue. This is the "true live sound" that even the official can't taste. The ensemble of RUSH, which can be enjoyed with such an ultimate direct sound, is incredibly vivid. The dynamism of assembling fine phrases in detail is transmitted in super detail down to the sound of rubbing the strings, so the sound world is unprecedented. However, it is not just because it is so amazing that only the good aspects are conveyed. Geddy Lee was in poor health that day, and his voice was struggling to extend. Not only the high notes, but also the mid-range and MC could be vividly understood to be rough. However, Geddy's condition worsened as the tour "COUNTERPARTS TOUR 1994" went on, and he was far from being in top form at other performances. Among them, this work was in such a bad condition that the Hampton performance scheduled for the next day was canceled. However, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart had no problems and gave a passionate performance as if to follow up Geddy's poor condition. Although it is a historical super-quality sound board, it is really unlucky that it is in such a bad condition, but on the other hand, it is also a live album that can be heard in super detail of RUSH's last-minute efforts, which were pushed to the brink of collapse. The DAT master recorded directly from the digital desk by the people who were present at the venue. What kind of sound is packed there? This work is certainly a live album where you can listen to RUSH's live performance with super-excellent sound. However, it is also a piece that can get closer to the music industry than that. The words "document" and "reality" were not exclusive to audience recording. This is a piece that vividly conveys the truth of the live performance in a different dimension from the audience.
