BLACKMORE’S HARD ROCK’s last tour in Japan was “STRANGER IN US ALL TOUR 1995”. It was a large-scale tour that covered the Japanese archipelago with nine performances, but the live album of the famous performance “November 12, 1995 Yoyogi Olympic Pool Performance”, which is called “the best of the tour!”, is now available at a more affordable price! This tour has many performances and many titles. Our shop has introduced many famous recordings from that time, so you may be a little confused. Let’s take a quick look back at the schedule here.・November 11th: Yoyogi Olympic Pool "FLY BY NIGHT" ・November 12th: Yoyogi Olympic Pool [This work] ・November 14th: Kyoto Kaikan First Hall ・November 16th: Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium "OSAKA 1995 1ST NIGHT" ・November 17th: Nagoya Century Hall "KING OF THE CENTURY" ・November 19th: Osaka Festival Hall "TEARS IN BLACK" ・November 20th: Kyushu Welfare Pension Hall "FUKUOKA 1995" ・November 22nd: Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium "KILLING FLOOR" ・November 23rd: Tokyo Bay N.K. Hall "ELECTRIC EVER" "TOO LATE FOR TEARS" *In addition, there are also "STRANGE THEM ALL" and "HUNTING GLORY", which are coupled on multiple days. Thus, the live performance included in this work was the second performance of the Japan tour. Since DEEP PURPLE's first visit to Japan, the Nippon Budokan has always been Richie's highlight performance, but this year was the first "Budokan Nuki". Instead, the highlight was the even larger Yoyogi Olympic Pool, and this work is the second day of the two-days. This work, which contains such a live performance, is a famous recording that was also awarded as the "triple crown" at the time. The best performance, best set, and best sound were all available. Currently, "STRANGE THEM ALL" and "HUNTING GLORY", which include separate recordings of the same day, and the masterpiece CD "OSAKA 1995 1ST NIGHT" recorded in Osaka are also available. I can't say "This is the best!" lightly, but even so, it is undoubtedly one of the best quality, and even if you look at all the recordings on the second day of Yoyogi, you think "they have different personalities" and "it's hard to throw them all away", but it is still a top-ranked high quality. Despite the huge venue, the sound is so direct that it feels like a soundboard. And the best performance depicted by that sound is amazing. In fact, the second day of Yoyogi is not a "perfect show". Equipment trouble occurs at the beginning, and the scene continues to make you nervous. It all started with the opening "Over The Rainbow". Dorothy speaks with a great sound, but the guitar doesn't sound! The guitar can be heard by the intro of the following "Spotlight Kid", but it cuts off in the middle of the riff. After that, the guitar returns, but the sound is a little distant and unstable. The phrases that seem to shake off the trouble are fierce, but Richie's irritation gradually builds up. Even more decisive is after "Spotlight Kid". A scratchy noise can be heard from the guitar amp, and even when Doogie White calls the next "Too Late For Tears", Richie retreats and does not start. Dougie suddenly sang "Rainbow Eyes" to bridge the gap... I'm writing this and wondering, "What is so great about this performance?" But after Richie returned, it was amazing. He played hard to release his frustration! On the day before the first day of the tour, he played a melancholic, beautiful, and comfortable solo, but on this day he played very aggressively. Richie's tension was on fire and he brought out one masterpiece after another. In addition to the aforementioned "Rainbow Eyes," there were many songs that we didn't hear on the first day, such as the NAZARETH cover "Love Hurts," "Street Of Dreams," "Stone Cold," "Maybe Next Time," and "Smoke On The Water." In particular, "Woman From Tokyo" was only performed on this day, and before I knew it, it had become the night with the most songs in Japan. The trouble at the beginning makes you nervous, but the performance afterwards becomes a home run. This is a masterpiece that captures the passionate playing and the rush of great songs with the best sound. Please take this opportunity to enjoy this famous recording that represents "1995" to the fullest!
