A live album where you can listen to the dream of "Death Alley Driver opening" has appeared. Of course, it is an urgent release. Nowadays, the image of "Spotlight Kid" as the opening of RAINBOW has been established, but everyone thought that "Death Alley Driver" was the opening song at the 1982 Japan tour and was ready and waiting. Of course, that expectation was brilliantly disappointing, but it's not that Ritchie Blackmore hadn't thought about "opening with Death Alley Driver". There are also shows in history where "Death Alley Driver" served as the opening, and recordings have been confirmed at two performances. This work is an audience album of one of them, "Montreal performance on June 12, 1982". First of all, let's look at the position of this work from the overall picture of the tour.・May 11th-August 19th: North America (59 performances) ←★Here★《2 months later》 ・October 12th-22nd: Japan (8 performances) ・October 29th-December 1st: Europe (23 performances) The above 90 performances are the full picture of the “STRAIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES TOUR”. The Quebec performance of this work was the 21st concert. This show has long been known for its pitch and crumpled sound source, but this work is different. It is a live album from a different source that was discovered very recently. The sound is in a completely different dimension from the previous release. Since it is a valuable sound source, it cannot be said to be “like a sound board”, but the sound that reaches straight and clear is wonderful to reject poor lines. Although it also absorbs hot cheers, the extremely thick musical sound that overwhelms it is reliable, and the edge is transmitted vividly. In addition, the bass, which tends to be a weakness of audience recordings, is clearly captured, and you can clearly enjoy every note of the bass. Of course, the pitch does not collapse like the previous ones. The show depicted with such a sound follows the basic form of the "STRAIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES TOUR", but it is all about the "Death Alley Driver" that shines in pole position! Even though "Over The Rainbow" is announced following "Pomp and Circumstance", the song does not flow, but instead the swell of the arming that imitates the sound of a motorcycle engine roars! Then, the bass like "Highway Star" cuts in and "Death Alley Driver" starts running! Yes, this. This is it! This is the opening that I was counting my fingers and waiting for until the performance in Japan! As mentioned above, there were only two performances where this opening could be heard, one of which, the Kalamazoo performance, could be heard on "DEATH ALLEY ROCK FEVER (Shades 508)". And finally, the other Montreal performance can be heard on this work. Unlike "DEATH ALLEY ROCK FEVER", it does not have the rare song "Rock Fever", but there is no need to put up with the crumpled already released... This is one that completes the dream collection of two "Death Alley Driver opening" performances. To be honest, it is a work that silently conveys why they went back to "Spotlight Kid", but this is also a valuable witness to history. This is a masterpiece live album that you should definitely collect along with "DEATH ALLEY ROCK FEVER". Verdun Auditorium, Montreal, Quebec, Canada 12th June 1982 Disc 1(45:01) 1.
