Prince's "SIGN OF THE TIMES" is a masterpiece and a two-disc set. After the breakup of REVOLUTION, with whom he had worked up until the previous album "PARADE," Prince went into the studio alone to create "SIGN OF THE TIMES." And it can be said that the ingenuity of his studio work is the true essence of Prince. Prince, who changes his sound tendency with each album in a way that is different from pandering to the times, has finished it as a work full of the taste of the 1980s when listened to by modern ears. This period also overlaps with the period when Prince was at his most talented, and he must have been busy not only in music but also in movies and women, but even so, it is known that not only did he release a two-disc set of material, but behind it there are several times as many outtakes and unreleased songs. If we were to describe Prince during this period, we would say it was fulfilling. In the first place, the two-disc album "DREAM FACTORY" that he produced with REVOLUTION was discarded when the band broke up, and the three-disc album "CRYSTAL BALL" was rejected by Warner, so he settled on the two-disc album "SIGN OF THE TIMES". Prince is truly formidable. The tour accompanying the release of "SIGN OF THE TIMES" was held in 1987, with a total of 34 performances in just two months. It was a leisurely tour for Prince, but it was thought to be an important turning point for Prince. After all, it was a tour in which he broke up with his long-time band and went on a new lineup. The record company demanded a large-scale tour including Europe, the United States, and Japan for promotion, but the tour accompanying this album was only held in Europe. Therefore, all of the remaining recordings are very rare. This work is a soundboard recording of the final day of the four consecutive performances in Paris on June 17, 1987, from the SIGN OF THE TIMES tour. The set list is mainly from the new album "SIGN OF THE TIMES", but also includes past hits, making it the best selection of songs to date and full of the feeling of being active. The bonus tracks include two songs from the tour in the Netherlands on June 22nd. This is a representative recording of the SIGN OF THE TIMES tour, which was only held in Europe for a short period of time. PALAIS OMNISPORTS DE PARIS BERCY PARIS, FRANCE June 17, 1987 01.
