From OZZY OSBOURNE's 1988 North American tour accompanying the release of "NO REST FOR THE WICKED", the December 27th performance at "Rosemont Horizon" in Chicago, Illinois will be released as a 2-disc set! This work directly uses the original cassette master by the famous taper, who has made definitive recordings of live performances in Chicago such as MOTLEY CRUE's "THEATRE OF ROSEMONT" and IRON MAIDEN's "SLAVERY MASTER". You can experience the exquisite audience sound that can be declared the highest quality recording made 25 years ago! When Ozzy ended his four-year collaboration with Jake E. Lee in 1987, he once again began auditioning young guitarists to introduce new "blood" to the band. At that time, Zakk Wylde, who was only 21 years old, took on the role of Ozzy's partner. Ozzy and Zack drastically changed their sound from their previous L.A. metal direction and produced "NO REST FOR THE WICKED", which had a heaviness similar to early BLACK SABBATH. In July 1988, prior to the release of their album, Ozzy and his band began performing live at clubs in England. Then, in November, they began a large-scale US tour with ANTHRAX as the opening act. Zack's dynamic play quickly became a hot topic among fans. In this work, the live performance held in Chicago on December 27th at the end of the 1988 tour is recorded by the finest audience master who has an excellent sense of realism and listening performance! The Shades label's "BLOODBATH IN INDIANAPOLIS" was the standard at this '88 live show, but this work surpasses that, and I declare it to be the definitive version of Ozzy's American tour that year! The recording begins with "Carmina Bunara", which marks the beginning of the live performance. Although there are some parts where the bass is slightly distorted, the excitement of the audience waiting for Ozzy's live performance is clearly conveyed in the majestic BGM. As soon as Ozzy yells "Let the madness begin!", the performance of "I Don't Know" starts as if the dam was turned off! The musical tones backed by wonderful brightness vividly reproduce each part. In particular, Randy Castillo's drums sound powerful, and the following "Flying High Again" has a presence that is comparable to Ozzy's vocals and Zack's guitar. From the masterpiece "Mr. Crowley", which requires no questions asked, we enter the first highlight of the live show! John Sinclair's keyboard playing in the intro is impressive, but Zack's guitar, which is already full of free-spirited and dynamic personality, is full of highlights both in the backing and solos. Ozzy's vocals are also doing well. Furthermore, with Zack's guitar and Geezer Butler's bass, "Shot In The Dark" has been sublimated into a dignified heavy metal in both name and reality, which is even more amazing! The encounter between a profound and powerful performance and a catchy melody will leave a strong impact on the listener. From here, the scene that flows into the frenzied “Bloodbath In Paradise” will captivate any metal fan! Furthermore, following Zack's solo part that lasts for 12 minutes, "Sweet Leaf", a feature of the "NO REST FOR THE WICKED" tour, appears! The invincible heavy sound created by Ozzy, Geezer, and Zack has more destructive power than BLACK SABBATH from the same period. Disc 2 begins with “War Pigs”, which is a medley from “Sweet Leaf”. Although it was played in full at the official live “JAST SAY OZZY”, the same song in the actual live is a short version of about 2 minutes. Thanks to the compact performance, the band's momentum was at its peak as they entered "Tattooed Dancer". Castillo's thrilling development and earth-shaking drum solo are a great listen. The new song part of the same song, “Fire In The Sky” and “Miracle Man” will be the listening place in the middle of this live. “Suicide Solution,” “Iron Man,” and “Crazy Train,” which feature Zack's powerful guitar, will simply overwhelm the listener! "Bark At The Moon", which is featured in the encore, is also impressive with John Sinclair's keyboard featured in a large way. The climax of the live performance is “Paranoid”, where the excitement in the venue reaches its peak! Unfortunately, the tape ran out in the middle of the song, and the recording faded out. Chicago's famous taper, which recorded this sound source, has left many famous recordings as mentioned at the beginning. This sound source is one of the most powerful among them! Enjoy 90 minutes of Ozzy's 1988 live show, where he bid farewell to the glamorous era of L.A. metal and returned to the fundamentals of rock: heaviness and hardness! A complete 2-disc set that metal fans can't miss is now officially released!
