Zeppelin's American tour in the summer of 1970 began on August 15th, and was a small-scale tour with 20 shows in about a month. This tour was a memorable one for Zeppelin, marking an important turning point for the band. Until just before this tour, the set list had always opened with "We're Gonna Groove," but from this summer's American tour until 1971, "The Immigrant Song" had been the opening number. During this period, the band was in a transitional period from early to mid-stage maturity, and the members, who were young and at their best in 1969, played songs that would continue on stage for a long time, making this a tour that fans would love. It is no surprise that many great recordings were made from this tour. The set list was a medley of "The Immigrant Song" and "Heartbreaker," an ironclad opening that is synonymous with Zeppelin! The third song was "Dazzled," followed by a short acoustic set, and the final song was "A Heart Full of Love." It was a high-density concert, like the long tours of 1973 and 1977, condensed into two hours. In the encore, "Communication" and other songs were performed in the atmosphere of the venue, and if you think that the masterpiece "Blueberry Hill" was also recorded on this tour, you can imagine how wonderful the performance was. This work is from the 1970 summer American tour, and is recorded in Honolulu, Hawaii on September 6th. It is the performance two days after the Los Angeles "Blueberry Hill." There were two consecutive performances in Honolulu, and this work is the last day of them. As for why Honolulu, far from the mainland, was included in the tour schedule, the concert was probably just an afterthought, and the main purpose was to enjoy a vacation on the sunny beach. As proof of this, although there are few photos of the concert, there are many photos of the members arriving with leis around their necks and playing on the beach. And there was an incident right from the start of this Honolulu performance. After the first song, "Immigrant Song," Jimmy, who usually plays the riff for "Heartbreaker" immediately, doesn't start. Then, I don't know what kind of wink was made on stage, but Johnsy starts playing "Dazzled." It's a very unusual pattern to skip "Heartbreaker" and play "Dazzled" as the second song. And this is not to shorten the stage, "Heartbreaker" is properly played as the third song. It is unclear whether it was just a misunderstanding or some kind of trouble, but in any case, it is a very unusual song order. This work starts with the opening greeting from the host, and the entire work is recorded with a single source from a location close to the stage. This album was produced from the first generation master, which was digitally copied twice to DAT. The recording is so excellent that it is as if the sound was picked up from a monitor, that the recorder even gave a copy of this tape to Robert himself.
