September 1971 was the absolute best performance of the entire year, and indeed of Zeppelin's entire live career. The second concert in Berkeley, California on that September night was no less amazing. This concert, preserved in a clear audience recording, is one of the earliest Zeppelin live performances produced and made available to fans. This recording has many advantages, but the lack of bottom dynamics and the lack of loudness and power of Bonham's drums are a concern. Plant's vocals were also a bit harsh. In the remaster of this concert, the drums are more forward and powerful, and the shrieks are reduced in some places. The acoustic parts are also much better! With only the TMOQ version remaining as a source, it is also important to get the best rip from the LP. Here, the JRK REMIX is completed thanks to the provision of a great rip! 1. To reduce the distortion in Plant's vocals 2. To boost Bonham's drums 3. To reduce the lesser distortion in Page's guitar. 4. To level volume where needed, without using compression 5. To smooth the transition between the mono and stereo parts 6. To produce greater separation of the instruments/vocals 7. To keep the 'natural' feel of the original recording
