The album "HOW I WON THE WEST" was great. It was a perfect example of the charm of Zeppelin, right before the 1972 Japan tour was not very good and Robert changed his singing style to overcome it. This album is known to have been edited from two performances, the Los Angeles performance on June 25, 1972 and the Long Beach performance on June 27. The existence of the Long Beach performance was known because a partial soundboard recording had leaked, but the fact that there was a soundboard recording of the Los Angeles performance with a high-quality audience under the title "BURN LIKE A CANDLE" was a surprise to enthusiasts. There have been rumors for a long time that a chronological live album of Led Zeppelin supervised by Jimmy has not yet been realized. According to one theory, Robert is reluctant to do so. Indeed, unlike instruments, Robert's singing has its ups and downs, and as mentioned above, since 1973 he has changed his singing style to compensate for his decline, so he is reluctant to leave it as a work, although it may be fine for a one-off live performance. It can be said that "HOW I WON THE WEST" is a live album that Robert, who is particular about his singing, allowed. In fact, the Zeppelin that can be heard on this album is flawless. And this work is a complete recording of the San Bernardino performance on June 22, 1972, just three days before "HOW I WON THE WEST" was recorded, from this series of tours. There is a San Diego performance between this day and the Los Angeles performance, but neither the audience nor the soundboard have been excavated, so this is the most recent live performance that we fans can listen to. And since it is close to the date of the performance that will later be released as a live album, we can confirm the outstanding performance of 1972. The opening is a booming sound effect credited as "LA DRONE" in "HOW I WON THE WEST". The sound effect is full of expectation against the background of the hustle and bustle of the venue, and you can hear the venue getting excited halfway through, probably because the members will appear on stage during this time. Then the first song, "Immigrant Song", starts as if it's earsplitting. After this tour, the opening number will be "Rock and Roll" from the next Japan performance, so this will be the last tour with the golden opening medley that leads from "Immigrant Song" to "Heartbreaker", which we have been familiar with for over three years. Even so, the difference from the Japan performance in October was remarkable, and it was a wonderful performance that made you wonder how the same band could change so much in just a few months. For Zeppelin, their 4th album was a confident work, but it had only been released in November of the previous year, and they probably judged that the audience's reaction had not yet been established. "Stairway to Heaven," which would later become the highlight of the concert, was played in the middle, and "Rock and Roll," which would later become the opening number, was played at the end of the encore. "California" was also included in the acoustic set. Looking at the set list in this way, it can be said that the numbers that will become Zeppelin classics in future generations were already included at this point, and that it is truly the best. This work is based on a cassette that was made by dropping the original master reel onto a cassette. Therefore, it is the longest one that can be thought of at this stage. It is especially wonderful that it is completely recorded from a single source. The sound quality is comparable to the famous "BURN LIKE A CANDLE," and it can be said that this is another live album that is worthy of being grouped together with Long Beach, Los Angeles, and this San Bernardino trilogy. This is also a treasured sound source for enthusiasts. A complete recording of the San Bernardino concert on June 22, 1972 in high quality. SWING AUDITORIUM, SAN BERNARDINO CALIFORNIA U.S.A.
