``PAINKILLER'' is highly praised as the ``ultimate heavy metal album.'' In the late 1980s, JUDAS PRIEST was sued for allegedly ``driving young people into suicide'' and suffered from lackluster albums, but this was a masterpiece in which they overcame adversity with their inner strength. The sound that has broken out for the first time in a while is not limited to just the album, but the tour has been very popular all over the world. In the end, they achieved such success that they were nominated for a Grammy Award in the heavy metal category, and they forcibly overturned the era. The Japanese performance during such a “bases loaded home run” period is now available as a super sound live album! From the 1991 Japan tour, the Tokyo NHK Hall performance on April 14th is completely recorded with an extremely high-quality audience recording. Of course, this is a completely new master that has not been distributed among traders. This work was made possible by the talented taper who has recorded not only HR/HM such as DIO's "DRAGON HEAD" but also many concerts in Japan mainly in the 80's. Among that masterpiece recording group, the sound of this work is exceptional. The clarity of each instrument and the ideal cheers that create a sense of scale without being intrusive are now the norm. In this work, the strength of the bottom, especially the thickness of the drum core, is amazing! When it comes to audience recordings, the outline of the sound and the drum sound tend to be light, but in this work, even though the bass drum of Scott Travis, a new drummer who boasts a lot of hands, is kicking up the stomach with a thud, there is no sound. The sound is not muddy. It's a perfect sound that easily surpasses even that masterpiece "FAST & FURIOUS" that captured Budokan at its peak! The awesomeness of the bass is not limited to the drums. The majestic sound of The Sentinel's guitar intro! Ah, the sound is frightening... It makes you think, but it's so powerful that it doesn't break at all. This well-balanced recording is truly a masterpiece of design. As befits the powerful sound, the content of the show is also super metal! A particularly hard song was selected from the hard "PAINKILLER", and the thrilling pleasure is unique. It's a shame that A Touch Of Evil, which was performed on the US tour, is not there, but the show is pushed forward with a sense of unity and power that makes you understand even that. Let's start with "Painkiller" from the SE that will make fans who can't wait! That's what I thought, and then suddenly a backlit Harley appeared, "Hell Bent For Leather"! Just by listening to this spectacular production and the big-scale cheers, the scene unfolds before your eyes. With the MC saying the key phrase "Priest is back!!", the songs moved on to "Grinder", and then "The Hellion" to "Electric Eye". What you will notice in this barrage of old songs is the unique sound of this tour. The band ensemble, with Scott's enhanced Kinzo luster, is so wonderful that it makes you forget even the heyday of the 1980s, but this didn't last long. In fact, since Rob Halford left the band after this tour, the tuning has been lowered to this day. While this created a sense of heaviness, it also resulted in a loss of sharpness. It is only on this tour that the entire live performance, even the old songs, shine with a glittering and glossy sound! And the show finally began with a new song. Just by saying, ``From the new album ``PAINKILLER,'' the cheers that erupt from the crowd clearly convey the excitement of the times surrounding the new album. And the tearing “Twisting the strangle grip, Won’t give no mercy!! Feeling those tendons rip, Torn up and mean!!!” This passage will make all metal fans bound with ecstasy! Rob's booming performance echoed through the NHK Hall, and the sound was perfect in reproducing it. After all, miracles do happen. Following the eternal metal anthems "The Sentinel" and "Metal Gods," "Night Crawler" runs with dark melancholy, "Ripper" and "Beyond The Realm Of Death" warp to the wonderful '70s, and are greatly enhanced by Scott. The powered-up “Riding On The Wind”...a group of famous songs that will make you smile just by mentioning the song name will be played out. “Painkiller” is a long-awaited live performance that is completely free of any sluggishness! It's a difficult song that some say has never been performed perfectly live, but given that it was performed 20 years ago, it's a much more rewarding listen than it is today. With the exquisite version of "Painkiller" as the cue, the show began to rush into the festival's signature song! "You've Got Another Thing Comin'" combines the splendor of the drum sound that roars with the texture of "Breaking The Law," the moving chorus, and the promised superhuman interaction in one song... Anyway, it's a live show filled with a sense of fulfillment that has revived both mind and body. The voice (of the recording person?) that can be heard in the midst of the booming “Judas Priest!” call, “It’s too cool!” tells everything. The master's miracle of vacuum-packing that amazing flavor and preserving it fresh for 20 years. Although there are some professional shots and sound boards left on this tour, they are completely incompetent in front of this work. If “PAINKILLER” is the “ultimate heavy metal album”, then this work is truly the “ultimate metal live album”! A must-have title that is sure to get all metal fans run over by the "Wheel of Death"!
