Johnny Winter, who made his long-awaited first visit to Japan in April this year and impressed his fans with his amazing stage, appeared at the Hondarribia Blues Festival held in Guipuzcoa, Spain on July 7th. This must-see video for fans was recorded by a local TV master with ultra-high quality multi-camera pro shots for 1 hour and 23 minutes. Johnny Winter turned 67 in February this year, but he plays while sitting on a chair, as he has done in recent years. However, just like in Japan, you can enjoy the realistic footage of him exciting Spanish fans with his guitar playing that doesn't make you feel his age. The show starts with the same production as in Japan, where Johnny appears when the drummer calls while the backing members play a lot, and plays a headless guitar from the beginning. Hideaway, Sugar Coated Love, Boogie Real Low, Good Morning Little Schoolgirl, Got My Mojo Working, and other up-tempo numbers are played in succession, exactly the same as in the Japanese tour, and the show is very exciting. The backing members also support Johnny with a well-coordinated, solid and sharp performance. A strong groove envelops the venue. The left hand moves freely on the frets while casting a unique gaze at the audience, but Johnny's guitar and vocals are stable and the strength is maintained until the end, so you can watch it with confidence until the end. Following the groovy Boney Moroney, before the final song of the main set, It's All Over Now, the roadie resets the microphone position, Johnny stands up, and starts playing while standing, and the audience goes wild at his figure. Johnny leaves the stage once, but in response to the encore, he reappears holding a Firebird. He shows off his powerful slide guitar, greatly moving the listeners. This is the perfect album to relive the Japan tour, and at the same time, it is the best title for all rock fans to enjoy, as it is the best content to experience the charm of Johnny Winter's current stage.
