The Japan tour for "LOUD HAILER" is finally about to begin. Jeff has been coming to Japan every year for the past few years, but this time it's different from usual. He will be experiencing the "combined ensemble with the female duo BONES" that was also featured in the album "LOUD HAILER" on a live stage, so I'm sure many people are waiting for the performance with half fresh expectations and half anxiety about what will happen. This work is a superb live album that is perfect for this week. This work was recorded at the "Seattle performance on August 21, 2016". It is a scene from the North American leg of the "LOUD HAILER TOUR". First, let's look back on the journey from the album release to the Japanese performance.・July 15, 2016: Release of "LOUD HAILER"・July 19-August 21, 2016: North American tour (24 shows) ←★Here★《2 months later》・October 22-30, 2016: European tour (6 shows)・November 11, 2016: "THE CLASSIC ROCK AWARDS 2016"《2 and a half months later》・January 25-February 7, 2017: Japan tour (10 shows) These are all the dates that have been announced so far. The North American leg began immediately after the album's release, and the circuit took about a month. This is the audience album from the final day of the tour. It makes sense to release a live performance from five months ago now. This is a recording that has only recently come out, and the sound is simply amazing! We have reported on the latest tour in five works so far, and this is one of the best of them all. Although it is a little different from the type that is called "like a sound board", the vividness of the musical tones and the fineness of the details are like line recording. The "WOODLAND PARK ZOO AMPHITHEATRE" where it was recorded seems to be an outdoor venue in a zoo, but there is no reverberation of the venue that goes around only outdoors, and the outline of the performance that reaches the straight is vivid. The sound that "sounds" mellowly in a clear atmosphere, whether it was recorded very close to the PA, is a model of audience recording. On top of that, the realistic feeling of the scene is wonderful. The American audience that cheers during the performance is completely different from the mood of the Japanese performance, but such America is Jeff's main battlefield. Of course, the main role is the extremely thick musical tones that dominate such an audience, but you can immerse yourself in the pleasure of bathing in Jeff's phrases mixed with the real audience. Also, as mentioned above, this work is a concert at an outdoor venue, but the sense of openness can be felt from the performance. The detailed phrases do not stay inside, but disappear into the void as if flying far away. Even a single arm movement gives the feeling of a great throw to the audience at the end of the venue. The world of the latest "LOUD HAILER TOUR" is depicted in such a sense of openness. The familiar Jimmy Hall also gives a hot throat in six songs, but in the new song, Rosie Bones of BONES shows off a coquettish vocal. Moreover, this is not just a "female voice". Perhaps because she has gained confidence through her experience, her mysterious husky voice reminiscent of a young Marianne Faithfull in the 1970s intertwines with Jeff's whimsical guitar. The biggest listen is "Scared For The Children". A tickling voice and a tickling guitar. The two spin a beautiful melody as if they are playing together. Previous works have given us the excitement that only "LOUD HAILER TOUR" can provide, but this work adds an even more outdoor-specific mood. I don't know the exact time of the performance, but it must have been dusk when the sky was dyed a pale purple... Such a mood drifts from the speakers (By the way, during the performance, there was a "Bang!" explosion sound on site, but what was that...?). Anyway, it is one of the best recordings of the latest "LOUD HAILER TOUR". It is a sound that I would have liked to press if it was in time for the Japan performance, but let's save that for the enjoyment of the Japanese recording. First of all, the eve of the event. You can listen to it while immersed in the excitement of the Yokohama and Sendai performances, or you can listen to it while waiting for the Iwate, Tokyo, and Western Japan performances. It is a work to fully savor the "now" when you can meet the very rare "female duo & Jeff". Live at Woodland Park Zoo Amphitheater, Seattle, WA.
