It seems that Jackson Browne's live recordings from the 1980s stopped being released until 1982, reflecting the general popularity of the time. Especially from "LIVES IN THE BALANCE" to "WORLD IN MOTION", which became more political in his career, there are fewer items. A rare soundboard recording has appeared on the Internet as if to throw a stone into such a situation. The precious sound source to be released this time is a 1988 Upper Darby performance. In terms of timing, the impact of the change in direction that took shape in "LIVES IN ~" has subsided, and "WORLD IN ~", which was to reach its peak as a politically-tinged album, is in production. Therefore, it is a valuable soundboard that captures Brown's transitional period in the late 1980s as depicted in the picture, but first of all, the sound quality is amazing. Since it is definitely a PA-out soundboard leaked by related parties, the sound quality is clear even if the sense of realism is thin, and the recording state where you can even enjoy a stereo feeling is at a level that even non-maniacs can enjoy. It is very valuable just to have a live recording of Brown from a time when there were very few items, but the fact that such a high-quality soundboard had been lying dormant is surprising. The interesting thing about this live performance is that it was between the two albums mentioned above, so the first half of the set list was made up of songs from the latest album at the time, "LIVES IN ~". Furthermore, it can be said that this is a valuable recording that has been vacuum-packed with a PA out, with the band sound that is dominated by synthesizers throughout the live performance, which is typical of Jackson in the late 1980s. As a result of these changes in sound and the strengthening of political colors, his record sales at that time went on a steady decline, but it is also true that time has passed and his powerful singing voice was still alive and well. At the same time, when Jackson played classics from the 1970s such as "For A Dancer" and "Late For The Sky" in the middle of the live performance, the 80s feel was wiped out and his traditional style was revived... In other words, the "gap" in a good sense was captured because of the vividness of the PA out. It seems that Jackson himself was fully aware of this situation, and on this day he tried to start the old number "Linda Paloma" in the same way, but stopped, and from the way he started playing "For A Dancer" from there, it seems that he had few past songs and wanted to promote songs from the 80s if possible. That's why he had already performed two songs from his next work "WORLD IN MOTION" that was in production in the first half of the live performance. This is also a valuable point of this sound source. However, the strangeness of the time has been reduced as time has passed, and rather, the unique charm of Jackson at that time, who was producing excellent 80s rock sounds, is reflected in the surprising first appearance sound board. By the way, it is unfortunate that the recording of this sound source stops at the end of the finale "For America". Furthermore, after the singing and playing "Cocaine", there was a sound that seemed to be due to the deterioration of the cassette, but when the sound quality changed, the discomfort was alleviated by equalization, so there is no room for error in this precious sound board!
