The US music site Alternative Nation has announced the "Top 10 Best Guns N' Roses Concerts". The concerts covered were from 1985 to 1993, when Slash and Duff McKagan were enrolled. This day took the top spot! It was the last day of the LA Forum in 1991, August 3rd. Finally, the legendary longest live performance is the first to be fully recorded, starting from the opening act! The sound quality is also the best! The pitch of all the previously released titles, which was slow, is accurate! There were many items that were not satisfying, such as the opening act not being recorded, the sound being bad, the pitch being out of sync, the sound getting better but not including the final Axel MC, it was a CD, the jacket being uncool, etc., but all of these weak points have been eliminated. This is the definitive edition! Has there ever been a Guns bootleg that was so well-made in the past? "Use Your Illusion". A double album that will monopolize the top 1 and 2 on the Billboard charts. In May 1991, Guns N' Roses began a North American tour to support this album. After a tremendous speed and scale of success in the 80s since their debut, Guns N' Roses started again in 1991. To start with, they performed as headliners in front of a huge crowd of over 250,000 people over two days at "Rock In Rio 2" in Brazil, and the first single from the new album, "You Could Be Mine," was chosen as the theme song for the blockbuster movie "Terminator 2." The tour was a perfect prelude. Like the release of the album, this tour was the focus of attention in the United States, and indeed the whole world. However, it is hard to say that this tour was necessarily smooth sailing. First of all, during a warm-up gig in New York, Axel hurt his heel, and was forced to wear a cast and protector for a while in order to continue the tour. Also, as I wrote at the beginning, "it was supposed to be," the release of the new album was postponed several times, and the tour completely took on a life of its own. In the end, even at the end of the first leg of this North American tour, it still hadn't seen the light of day. The final blow was the massive riots in St. Louis in July, which reportedly left about 80 people injured and 16 people arrested. Furthermore, just like the release of the album, the start of the show was also delayed, with delays of one or two hours becoming commonplace. Even if you wait that long, there is a possibility that the show will suddenly end due to some trigger, so it is not at all unbearable for the spectators. Perhaps it was just as unbearable for the people involved, as Izzy Stradlin, the key person of the band, decided to leave the band shortly after the end of the first leg. As mentioned above, this tour proceeded in an extremely chaotic situation, but the fact that it was still a great success in every city they went to shows how popular Guns N' Roses were at the time. To conclude the first leg of the North American tour, Guns N' Roses will perform four consecutive shows. The location is L.A. The venue is the Great Western Forum. It is the birthplace of the band. It is also a well-known venue where many great performances have been held in the past. "It will be a party of parties," the members said of their enthusiasm for these four days, and it is not difficult to imagine that Guns approached this consecutive performance with extraordinary determination. This CD records the performance on the final day of the four performances, which is said to be the best live performance in the band's history. The content is spectacular. The number of songs played is 31 in total. (Songs that were only played briefly are not counted.) After opening with "Perfect Crime," they played one after another, playing almost all of the repertoire prepared for this tour, so there was a parade of rare songs such as "Yesterdays," "Dead Horse," and "Locomotive." Shannon Hoon and Sebastian made guest appearances, and the solo parts of each member were also destructively bloated, leading to the encore song "Paradise City" being an ultra-long version that exceeded 10 minutes. As a result, the show ended after 3:30 a.m., and the total performance time exceeded three and a half hours, making it one of the longest marathon shows in the band's career history. There was no need to go that far... From the common sense of today, when the industrialization of rock has been completed, it is easy to criticize this tour and this performance as excessive production for media strategy, or even an accumulation of cheap propaganda and deception. Furthermore, it can be calmly analyzed that all of it was just a worn-out rehash of the legends left by bands before them. However, it is almost impossible to give a universal answer to the question, "What is rock?" Born and raised as a hybrid of all kinds of music, it has finally surpassed the boundaries of a single musical category and is now seen as a part of a larger culture, while at the same time embracing the aspect of being the source of huge business. In this era, the answers to this question are endless and there is no way that there can be a single answer. However, Guns N'Z is a rare entity that recklessly faced this difficult question head-on, and embodied the essence that they found by using all possible means, including legitimate methods, forbidden methods, and secret techniques, and slammed it on the world, mercilessly crushing those who disagree, and finally succeeded in dragging the whole world to their side. I think that this tour and this performance are the ones that most clearly showed that attitude of Guns N'Z. The history of Guns N'Z is "the road to becoming a dictator of the rock world." From the opening act by Skid Row, who had just won the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts, to Axl's announcement that the show was over, this legendary night is recorded in the longest volume ever. This is the definitive version, with the best sound source currently available, thoroughly polished by professional engineers to achieve the best sound quality ever. There is no room for argument that Guns N' Roses reigned at the center of rock on August 3, 1991. When you listen to this CD, this fact will pierce your brain along with Axl Rose's screams that cut through the dark night. FROM NIGHT BREAK TILL DAWN DISC 1 SKID ROW 01. SLAVE TO THE GRIND 02.
