Bowie's 1974 Diamond Dogs tour was a tour that carried the expectations of the whole world as the new Bowie following Ziggy. However, when Bowie appeared on stage, he was emaciated, perhaps due to the effects of drugs, and he looked lifeless, almost as if he had the signs of death. The band's performance was also not top-notch as a professional, and it was also reported that there were various troubles between Bowie and the band members. It can be said that the conditions were not the best in every aspect for touring. However, the overall slowed-down performance can be accepted as a new arrangement and interpretation, and above all, it is impressive that Bowie sings very carefully, and when you listen to it again today, it is not something that would be criticized. Since he made a live album called ``DAVID LIVE,'' I think Bowie was confident about everything. The Diamond Dogs tour was a tour that swept away the gaudy image of Ziggy and embodied a new Bowie. In a sense, this was a transitional period leading to the next Thin White Duke, and the character that formed the basis of this was Diamond Dogs, whose lower body was a dog and the upper body was a human. This work contains the complete recording of the Boston performance on July 6, 1974. The set list was typical for this period, and as mentioned above, the tempo was slowed down, the screaming was kept to a minimum, and the performance was focused on singing calmly and softly. The sound quality is excellent, even though it is an audience recording. Also interesting is that at the end of the concert, in response to the excited cheers of the audience that continued even after the emcee announced the end of the show, Bowie uttered the famous phrase, "David Bowie has already left the building." Of course, Elvis was still alive in 1974, even though he was in his later years, and it can be seen that this line had become a widespread staple. As a bonus track, three songs from the Dick Cavett Show on December 4, 1974 are included. It was performed in a live studio format, and the singing of "Footstompin'" is eye-catching. The video is a high-definition version of "CRACKED ACTOR," a documentary of the 1974 tour, which was recently broadcast. This documentary includes precious live footage of the 1974 tour, and although it has been in circulation since the video era, this high-definition version feels like a different era from that time. A video work was produced for the Ziggy Stardust tour, and a live album was also released as its soundtrack, but the Diamond Dogs tour was preceded by a live album, and a video work was never produced as software. It is unusual for Bowie, who was an early focus on visual effects in video, and the general public has not been able to know what the stage was like during this period. And this may be the reason why the evaluation of this tour is not settled. Looking at the live stage in this "CRACKED ACTOR," you can see that Bowie was very lively and the stage direction was also wonderful. Bowie, not wearing flashy costumes, but in a simple suit, with no makeup and almost no makeup, twists his body and performs a very sexy stage performance. It is a shock that completely changes the evaluation of the 1974 tour, which was not conveyed by sound alone, or was even misunderstood. The style of singing while sitting using a telephone-type microphone was also used in the 1980s, but it is not clear from the sound alone that the origin of this performance was in "SPACE ODDITY" of this tour. In addition to stage footage, Bowie's off-stage appearance is also abundantly included. The camera follows him to the dressing room, and other scenes such as his movement and his appearance with the fans are not just on stage, but are an excellent documentary that focuses on the entire tour. It is nice to see him show off various costumes in the dressing room and touch on the costumes he made in Japan. From Bowie's 1974 Diamond Dogs tour, the Boston performance on July 6th is recorded in super high quality. It is a complete recording from the opening SE to the ending greeting of the MC. In addition, the 1974 tour documentary "CRACKED ACTOR" is included as a bonus track in unprecedented high quality. Not only is the main performance scene a valuable video that conveys the state of this tour that has not yet been released on software, but it also includes a lot of off-stage scenes, making it a must-see for Bowie fans as a masterpiece of a follow-up documentary.
