The legendary concert "July 3, 1973 Hammersmith Performance" was made into a movie and is a symbol of not only Bowie but also 70's rock. The soundboard album will be released. This show is truly legendary. It was the final day of the "ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR 1972-1973" and the performance where the "Ziggy Seal Declaration" was held. First, let's take a look at the overall picture of the "ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR" that shines in rock history. [1972] February 4th "Ziggy Stardust" completed January 29th-September 7th: UK #1 (63 performances) September 22nd-December 2nd: North America #1 (29 performances) December 23rd-29th: UK #2a (4 performances) [1973] January 5th-9th: UK #2b (4 performances) January 24th "Aladdin Sane" completed February 24th-March 12th: North America #2 (16 performances) April 8th-20th: Japan (9 performances) May 12th-July 3rd: UK #3 (59 performances) ←★ Here ★ This is the whole picture of the legendary tour. The Hammersmith performance of this work was exactly the final performance. The soundboard master of this show has appeared on the Internet in recent years and has become a big topic, but this work is a master of related parties that leaked by a different unique route. It was released as a press CD from the Wardour label, and is now sold out and out of print while still very popular. In fact, this work is a masterpiece with a direct feeling that can only be thought of as the sound sealed in the reel. There is no need to emphasize the sound with equalization, and it is a live album that allows you to enjoy a more natural "raw sound" than any other title. The legendary Hammersmith performance depicted in that sound is exquisite. What is most wonderful is Bowie's singing voice. Although it was carefully mixed and polished officially, this work has a vividness unique to the direct sound board. The mix is also the actual scene, and the voice of the main character Bowie is poured directly into the microphone with a reality as if it were a microphone. Yes, the legendary Ziggy sealed MC "Not only is it the last show of the tour, but it's the last show that we'll ever do.", which is spoken before "Rock'N Roll Suicide", also resonates in your ears with more vividness than the actual scene (the screams of the audience echoing in the distance are also super realistic). Of course, no matter how rough the mix, the band's performance is not neglected. Bowie's song is the center of attention, but the ensemble's charm is also vividly conveyed. What makes it especially pleasing is "The Jean Genie / Love Me Do" and "Round And Round". You can hear the collaboration with Jeff Beck, which you can't hear officially, on the sound board directly connected to the table. From the MC introducing Jeff to the intertwining of the phantasmagoric guitar and Bowie's voice, the picking nuances are also poured in with a vivid ear-to-ear sound... However, there are many obstacles to success. As it is such a valuable record, unfortunately there are also drawbacks. Due to equipment trouble during recording, there is a slight warp in "The Width Of A Circle" (12:29), and there is about 6 seconds of sound deterioration in "Suffragette City" (0:43-0:49). In addition, the pitch was also randomly out of sync. It was considered to supplement such chipping and deterioration with official recordings, but connecting official recordings with significantly different mixes would inevitably create a sense of incongruity. Therefore, in this work, the chipping was not patched out of respect for the legendary recording, and only the pitch was thoroughly corrected. A finish that allows you to enjoy the sound that the reels had as naturally as possible was achieved. Ziggy Stardust, a character that is even spoken of as a symbol of Bowie. Of course, you can never talk about Bowie just by Ziggy, but you can't talk about him without Ziggy. Starting from the album, the existence that became more flashy and more eccentric with each tour was finally about to swallow Bowie himself. It is a historical masterpiece that allows you to vividly enjoy the legendary performance that put an end to its peak. A singing voice that should be passed down forever along with the documentary film. Live at Hammersmith Odeon, London, UK 3rd July 1973 SBD (speed correction) Disc 1 (52:58) 01.
