This is a coupling recording of the best live recordings of the Crusaders, who reigned at the top of the fusion scene in the 1970s. First, the final performance of the tour for the album Images was recorded on a high-quality remastered soundboard. It was the eve of the smash hit album Street Life, but it is a very good live performance with a well-balanced arrangement of great vocal-less songs from before that album. At this time, Larry Carlton and trombonist Wayne Henderson had each left the band independently, but Joe Sample completely changed the band members, and as a result, the band's sound orientation became more pop-oriented, and the sound was quite easy to listen to, which was the foundation for their later big hits. The public opinion is that the sound has become clichéd, but rather than the band's performance declining, the live performance is somehow carefully played, which makes it more familiar to the ears. And then there is the soundboard recording of the 1979 Japan tour. There is indeed an official recording of the Japan tour, Live In Japan, but that was a live performance in 1981 and this is 1979. The title track Street Life, which became a huge hit, was not played. In fact, there were no songs from Street Life, but instead songs from Spiral by Crusaders from the South and vocal song Keep The Same Old Feeling from 1975. It was a great selection in itself. Street Life was released in December 1979, so it was a live performance just before that. At the end, they played In All My Wildest Dreams from Joe Sample's solo album Rainbow Seeker from 1978, which may be the album they want to promote. Billy Rogers's snappy guitar cutting in Chain Reaction stands out and sounds great, Joe Sample's piano is familiar to the ear, and the master has been properly polished and remastered to the maximum. The song ends properly, but there is no fade-out, and the applause suddenly stops and the next song, It Happens Everyday, seems to be between the 16th and 17th. Of course, Larry Carlton and the others are not there, but drummer Stix Hooper is still there, and this is the peak of the band's radical sound that began to change around 1975. This is a comfortable live performance just before Billy, Robert, and Stix left and it became just Joe and Wilton.
